Oh $#!t, there goes the neighbourhood! WTF? Could Union pacific kiss a$$ any harder? A little more tongue action maybe? I cannot ever look at a SD70 the same way again, sadly.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too!

I think its neat the paint job that is. However the reasoning and who its for is not neat at all. I don't like any of that family, but its something cool to see for sure. It'd be kinda funny seeing that thing come down the tracks, won't ever happen I'm sure

Apparently UP and Overland were in cahoots for this project. This is from a friend of mine who owns a hobby shop on the west coast:

I spoke with Overland about the Bush train yesterday at the iHobby Expo in LA.

This project was over a year in the making. Overland was contacted and asked it they would make a brass loco of the prototype, to be presented to GB 41 at the ceremony. They worked with UP on the paint scheme and other details.

So this was not really a quick turn around, it took quite a bit of time and planning.

I think it's incredibly appropriate to be "presenting" a foreign-made gift to a member of the Bush family.

(EDIT: Added picture of model)

uh isnt having the american flag backward almost as disrespectful to the country as having it upside down?

edit: very fitting I suppose considering how much the dynasty has gained at the nation's expense

Yup. It is disrespectful. Either someone is being an ass or they haven't the slightest flipping clue how a flag flies. And to present it to the Bush family? Pretty crazy if you ask me.

Sad part is that some of Mr. Bush's antics are quite disrespectful to the American people. Guess he took lessons from Mr. Cretin Chretien.

but if you look at military uniforms and the like they show it both ways, protocol says for the flag on a vehicle if the stripes point one way on one side, then on the other side the stripes point the same way whick leads to one flag being "backward"

As of this posting, I am at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Int'l Airport. When we pulled into the gate the aircraft next to me had the same backward flag on the right side of the body.
