Star Wars.
Seriously, one of the best soundtracks ever to enter my ears was from "Last of The Mohicans"... very cool stuff.

Second on that list was the music from "Bladerunner" by Vangelis.

I completely forgot! Can you believe the original idea was to use DISCO music in the movie?! (every other movie of the time was, kind of like how every action movie in the 90's used techno)

Are you implying that Star Wars isn't one of the best sound tracks?

NEVER!
I just love the music, especially the Imperial March (what I lovingly call Vaders' Intro Music)

The best music in Star Wars is during the final Luke Vader duel in Return of the Jedi right before Luke cuts off his hand.

I liked the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack, just because it complimented the movie so well.

I thought Borat's movie had a pretty damn good sound track. And I'm not all that much into gypsy music.

since its getting down to the finals in baseball, "The Natural" with Robert Redford was on the other night and that really has one of the most outstanding soundtracks.

(and yes, I am watching it AGAIN... for like the 900th time and i still love it)

I would have to say John william's work, especially in Spielberg films, the collaboration of their work is great.
