| | | I posted this in Fedge's How Ya Feelin' thread, but thought I'd like to share it here as well. I came home from work today to discover that my daughter, who just turned 16,was jumped after school by someone who was twice her size (my kid's like 100 lbs.). The dickwad had something in her hand and sliced my kid's forehead vertically down to her eyebrow. Oh,and another gash in her scalp. Waiting to find out if she needs stitches, and I am SO FUCKING MAD I want to kill somebody. Her loser ex boyfriend, who she recently dumped,is behind this.Y' know, the kid that my entire family helped out and housed for the past year (he lived at my sister's place til recently because he had nowhere to go).He got fired today from the job I got him, then sicked this girl on her. I am absolutely sickened and thinking about taking tomorrow off to go and kick the ass of this broad's mother, instead of doing it after work. I try to keep a level head but when someone fucks with my kid, watch out. Thanks for reading.Feeling pretty fuckin' mad. Oh,and if I find the said fight on YouTube,I will not be held responsible for what happens next. ~~Few hours later now,my daughter got three stitches in her forehead, and her scalp wound was glued shut (?). Her ex actually called me and tried to say he had 'nothing to do with it.' Uh huh.I lost my mind.He can tell that to the gorillas I send after his punk ass.

| | | Thank you everyone for your thoughts and opinions, much appreciated. This has fucked with my mind more than I can express. In the stage of feeling very sad for my kid,no parent likes to see this happen. As for Steph, she's trying to play it cool and act like it's no big deal. This event just so happened to take place on the last day before March break, the same day that "I" (the other kid, don't have her last name yet) was expelled from school. It also so happened to be the only day that Steph's ex boyfriend didn't show up at the school, trying to talk her into going back with him. As far as having the kid arrested (which I KNOW should be done)Steph has begged and begged me not to.Her reasoning is that in the high school 'culture',once you're labelled a rat,you have a problem with everyone, not just the other kid.So basically,we're screwed either way. This bullying bullshit has gone way too far in schools and from the kids' perspectives, you're fucked no matter what you do. I want the kid arrested but I also can't be with Steph all the time while she's out,and our neighbourhood isn't exactly a safe one.If we call the cops or have the the ex and "I" beaten,it will certainly carry on.On the other hand,if we do nothing, she becomes a target for everyone else anyway. What we are going to do (it's been tough to find this kid's last name, because it's March break and the school is closed)once,we get the girl's name and address,is report it to the police,to let them know that there's a problem here and what happened.I had a similar incident happen to me a while back, and the police were willing to take a report.I didn't charge her, just got her back on my own.I want to know if I can do this without Steph's knowledge, but it's happening either way. In any case,Steph keeps blowing it off, saying she was just caught off guard, but I don't think she really feels that way. She didn't really know this girl, and is certain that the ex put her up to it. No matter,I've taken the time to stop and think about this. If it's all about 'street justice' and rules, than the rules state this; One fine day not too long at all from now, good old ex and whoever the other chick is are going to walk into a little 'street justice' of their own. I'm not stupid enough to do this myself or get anyone too obvious, but it will happen. No weapons required. It really sucks to have to resort to shit like this, but as they say, 'that's how it is in their culture.' So be it.

| | | I was assulted in high school, I refused to press charges, the police charged the kid anyway. He also damaged my mom's car, insurance company sued his parents to get the money paid out. During the month between the attack and the arrest of the kid, my life was hell anyway. Everyone who knew the kid made my life miserable, they wanted to scare me into not pressing charges. It worked, I was terrified to get this kid into trouble. The police laid charges, everyone backed-off of me. No one else wanted to be charged with a crime, so they left me alone. The charges were a joke, he got off free and clear, but it was a pain in the ass to go to court, hire a lawyer, ect. His justice came a year after graduation, he got drunk, smashed his car into a utility pole, and died. Maybe little chicky will get hit by an HSR bus.

| | | Vicexsquad (how ya doin'? ),I wish that were the case, but Steph is at a school where fights take place on a regular basis, and are videotaped and posted on the internet. (I'll PM you a link).Haven't found my daughter's though, which is a good thing. If there is a new police presence there, some students will not be able to sell pot anymore,or record fights for mass consumption. The sad truth is,NO ONE would stand by her if she pressed charges, believe it. She could change schools, but in good old Hamilton, none are much different than the other. I still think that it would be very detrimental to her to lay charges, unfortunately. Oh,and did I mention that these kids are from the same group where four teens were stabbed (two died) at a bar, over a girl? That was last month, they caught the guy, though. The funeral we attended was packed with crying teenagers from the same area, some of who have apparently learned nothing. Nvr2Loud,I'm sorry to hear about what you went through,it's so common these days that it's sickening. If I thought for a second that these kids would lay off,The girl would have been charged.
