| | | These are the same people that complain about eating genetically enhanced vegetables. Personally...I don't care for the organization, my issues are basically due to the discovery of that 10,000 square foot freezer they're probably using to freeze euthanized animal carcasses in...since it would be a PR nightmare if they were found in the trash or if a disposal service actually came clean to a news service. I have my issues with environmentalists in general and with the people that complain about certain animal rights issues. No animal deserves to be mistreated, no person or thing deserves to be mistreated, but PETA is going too far. In many countries, farm raised fur bearing animals are used for dog food or other things after they're skinned. You have to realize that just because we throw away carcasses after we're done with them, others most likely don't. Also, has anyone ever realized that if we didn't wild hunt or trap many animals, like rodent family members such as rabbits, minks, ferrets, etc, we'd be overrun and they would starve? Now, I don't know about you, but seeing something starving to death would bother me more than killing the animal because there's too many of them. I don't believe that with housepets. Mostly because whenever I see a cat or a dog wandering around loose, it makes me think of some little kid somewhere waiting for it to come home for supper. Sounds bad, I know, there may not be a difference between a mink and a housecat, but there's a difference in the fact that we can prevent domesticated animal overpopulation with spaying and neutering, which is why if I can, I donate to the local animal shelter so they can give low cost or free spays and neuters for people who adopt abandoned animals. That's what keeps people from adopting abandoned pets. The cost. Many organizations also offer food vouchers and other things and that's what this money goes for, also it goes to find homes for these animals and take care of them until homes are found. If you want to stop the pet overpopulation thing, go help your local animal shelter, give some cash to the folks that spay and neuter feral cats or better yet, go out and help catch a few, pack them in the car and get them taken care of, but don't give money to these idiots so they can prance around the country spreading their message of hate, which is what it is in my eyes.
