For once I'm glad for all the oil refineries on the NJ turnpike. It was 3.35 for regular over the weekend... I wasn't really paying attention on the way to work this morning though. Still the highest price since last summer for me.

So what your saying is...... we should all just explore in NJ then fill up before we leave? awesome!

Prices on the gulf coast just hopped up to $3.60 for some reason, it was ~$50 to fill my 13 gallon tank.

The problem is that gas in the states costs a lot cheaper than everywhere else, and the people are still complaining.

Maybe this will be the wakeup call to everyone that there needs to be some sort of policy reform.

The papers are predicting that the prices will rise a little bit higher, stay there for a while, but drop to under a dollar, possibly even close to 80c in about ten years.

So they say.

I heard something similar from a market "expert" on NPR not too long ago. It's just waiting for the bubble to burst. I don't have any links to give you, though.

I'd heard that before myself. Dunno how true it is. Something will have to give. Also I've heard that after the next election, should the democrats win, there will be some investigations regarding price gouging in regards to gasoline prices.
Just not sure when though.

isn't it a coincidence that the oil companies and the wall street goons are more than happy to stick it to us knowing that the republican oil man president is gone regardless in November?
Hmmmm.

The news here in California, USA is that they are going to have gas prices up to $8 a gallon soon. But that is probably wrong, and some scare people to death story they are putting out in the local news to make people think that $4 a gallon is cheap.

We need anarchy, people....

Well since democrats are also just politicians, that will occur right before the end of the person's run of office. Just kidding.

There was a story in Michigan about a gas station giving a whole dollar off their gas, but not on the sign outside, just at the counter. They got so much business, and the two Indian workers were baffled but happy. News 8 showed up and interviewed them.

"Do you know why all these people are here?" the reporter asks, and they're like "no..."

"Your gas prices are only 2.79 (or whatever it was)." They were like, "no, the price is 3.79, see the sign?" and she shows them a receipt.

They lost about 3,000 in sales. LOL!!

Right now the cheapest I can find is 3.45 here in NJ. It's supposed to hit around 5 at the mid-summer peak... I can only imagine it's gonna be worse for most of you guys, as NJ has the 7th lowest gas prices in the US, according to the handy dandy chart here: http://www.gasbuddy.com/ (under the US map). It also has gas prices for you Canadians too. Pretty interesting website actually... hmmm.

Here's my prediction, and you can all write this down: gasoline will NEVER EVER AGAIN go below $1.25 per liter. NEVER EVER AGAIN. Also, consumers can expect to pay upwards of $1.30 per liter during the summer. Perhaps even $1.50 per liter. Prices will stabilize around $1.35, and THAT will be the new normal.

I passed a gas station yesterday that sold its shit $1.34 per liter. Up island, mind you, but still. Average price in Victoria and the lower island is $1.30.

But fear not, it's not greed. The oil companies told me so. It's honestly out of their control, they're on our side and feel our pain.
