Fuck this shit. I can only imagine how hard it is to get an actual career position.

Why the hell do I need experience for a job I can literally perfect in an hour? Why do my flaky friends get good jobs and reference despite skipping work and being late? Do I have to play hard to get or something? Is it bad that I can start immediatly and be fine with whatever hours? Should I show more interest in having the weekend off to party?

From now on, I'm sending out blank resumes, fake information, fake experience, fake contacts. Show no interest in the position, and maybe I'll actually get something. Which brings me to the poll.

:@

Btw, I'm happy in interviews so it can't be the anger.

I bullshitted on all my resumes when I was in my teens and early 20's. I landed a couple jobs I had no business doing. If your not smart they find out rather quickly. I was able to bullshit on 2 jobs that I held for over a year.

Bullshitting is how I got into insurance. Considering insurance billing is nothing but bullshit, you put fake numbers on the lines and wait to get a remittance from the insurance company with their fake numbers on another sheet of paper and make said remittance match up with said bill so bill looks partially paid on your books. Creative accounting is fun...sometimes...when it isn't your money anyway.
I used to be a clerk for a hospital, night shift. I spent more time answering the switchboard and on the radio dispatch portion of the job than I did anything else, well, that and reading a lot of shitty novels, painting and drawing in the office at night and doing my college homework, so I really didn't learn much about insurance, but when I put an application in for billing...well...they got a champion line of bullshit on how I helped reduce our "days in AR" by doing absolutely nothing...but not in so many words. ;P
Anyway...if you haven't done this...then you really didn't need a job that badly.

Ironically, now my problem is choosing between two good jobs! The job I accepted is at a drop-in center, pays well, and has the nicest boss ever (read: letting me come in late, get off early, etc). However, it is also all over the place. They haven't had my job there before so I am left making up shit to do, which makes me stressed out, because it's always easier to be a follower. I am constantly on edge worried that someone will start wondering why the hell they even hired me. Job number 2 is at Hydro One, so a big company that should theoretically have it's shit together, and have a lot of well dictated and practiced meaningless tasks for me to do for the whole summer. The grass is always greener I suppose...but at least now I am getting some green, even if I sold out my happy summer.

You should take the job at Hydro One just so you can understand how wrong this statement is.

Would I have slew of meaningless tasks to do though? I wonder how long they would be paying me if I just accepted the job and never showed up?

the bigger the company, the weirder and more inefficiently they operate. Case in point, the multination mess I work for... they have no idea what's going on.

I bet once you got your first pay, it'd take them a month to realize you weren't showing up, and it would take the rest of the summer to fire you.

I received a resume yesterday with a pic on it. No joke. I thought she had mistakenly sent her resume to little ol' us instead of the modeling agency that she really wanted to hit it big with...

Whatever the case, everyone in the office declared that we had to AT LEAST take her in for an interview simply because of that.

Are you hot?
