A couple of years ago, our family was blessed with a whole stockade of rifles and handguns from a relative that died. Before then, i knew nothing about guns, hated the NRA, etc etc etc. I still dont agree with the NRA on a lot of things, but i sure love guns now.

Here are some of the firearms we inherited.

1945 Springfield Armory M1 Garand
WWI Lee Enfield No.1 mk3
WWI Steyr
Ithaca 12 gauge shotgun
Astra 44 Magnum

We also have many antique black powder firearms from early American battles. Im just learning about some of them, and a few of them are museum pieces ill be speaking to a professional about in the next month.

Ill setup a little photo shoot to get some nice pics of these guns. As some of you may know, rifles are hard to take pics of.

Love it. I am a American history buff and a gun enthusiast so this is right up my alley. I love expressing my second amendment as often as possible.

I think I was born into it, when you grow up on a farm in northern Michigan guns are a part of your life from the day you are old enough to know what they are. I remember at the age of 7 or 8 looking at my dads' gun cabinet in awe.

I hate to admit it but my favorite gun to date is my SKS with the 30 round clip.

You use it with the banana clip? I have a Yugo sks and I bought the 30 rd. magazine, Ive only used it on the weapon a couple of times and on both occasions it jammed up.

And Wilky, dont be ashamed to admit it, its my favorite too. I got mine for a song and a dance, it had never been fired.

Well, this is a nice idea for a board. Now we can all debate guns without pissing off the gun haters!

I have been hunting and shooting forever. I'm from a very rural environment where nobody has any concern about giving a 10 year old a deer rifle for his birthday, because the child has probably been shooting for 5 years already. Took my first deer ar 11, but already had probably 50 bunnies and coons by then. These days I primarily specialize in bird hunting, because deer hunting has gone draw only around here. I also do military and police firearms training as part of my job.

As for guns, I won't bore you with a complete list, but I have a shitload. Here is a small representation :

Browning M1935 Hi-Power 9mm pistols - several
Colt 1911 series .45 pistols - several
Ithaca Model 37 16ga shotguns - several
Winchester Model 12 shotguns - several
Franchi 12 ga semi auto shotguns - several
Savage Model 99 lever action rifles - over a dozen
Smith and Wesson .38 and .357 revolvers - probably 15
Remington Model 700 bolt action rifles - several
Winchester Model 70 .30-06 bolt action rifle - several
Various and sundry modern .22 rifles and pistols - 25 or so
And my personal pride and joy - a reproduction Gatling gun

This list doesn't include a good bunch of older single and double barrel exposed hammer shotguns in various gauges, nor does it include a box full of various old .22, .25 and .32 semi autos and revolvers. I am also a collector of LEGAL and REGISTERED machine guns. Currently possess 8, and always looking for more. I have a ton of photos I'll post, but here's a quickie to whet your appetite.

I have the same one SKS 11 right? I have the Bayonet for mine as well, mine is the 30/30 not easy to get ammo for it.

Also have my Glock 17 9mm and Glock 32C .357

Hey MH, Im not familiar with SKS 11? Is that the part number for the clip?

Mine is a Yugoslavian M56, it has a 22mm NATO spec grenade launcher with a ladder sight on the front. I had an AK for a while but I hate that piece of junk. Just a bullet sprayin noisemaker.

***oh yeah Jonsey I forgot you were a gun freak too. :}.........now no ones collection will stand a chance

I took a pic of most of my collection last night, when I get a couple of minutes I will resize and post em.

Mine looks more like this,

It's all plastic with the folding stock. I only gave 150$ for it from a guy I work with, a total steal.

Funny story about my SKS. I took it back to Michigan with me a few years back, northern Michigan mind you. I went into the local Dunhams sporting good store to get some ammo. You know, normal 7.62x39mm. I asked the old timer behind the counter if they had and his response was hilarious. He says "Son, we don't sell that NATO shit round here." We all got a good laugh out of that.

Now, now. I work in the biz, which gives me a lot of chances to pick stuff up at below wholesale. Not really fair. :-) As a matter of fact, I picked this up at lunch since my last post!

F.I.E. Titan .22 single action pistol. Missing the back sight, but I got it for $25

Well that tops what I currently own. I'll post pics when I have a chance, but I only own airsoft stuff and a USMC M-1 replica, which was used in many rifle drills, parades, funerals, and ceremonies that I personally oversaw. -- Come to think of it, the last time I was a Drill Sgt, was almost 5 years ago! Wonder if I still remember the stuff...

I always thought the Chinese version was known as the Type 56. Also, never seen a Chinese version with a grenade launcher.

*Edit: added pics

Here is the majority of my stuff. Not shown is my 1911 .45, M4 and 30-06.

Sorry for the cruddy shot

Dave, I've never shot anybody that wasn't really, really bad! :-)

Two beautiful pistols there BK!

Couple more for your perusal.

Bergman .32 Auto, converted to full auto sometime in the 1930's, with an S&S suppressor. 100% legal and registered with ATF.

My repro Gatling. Built by a retired General Dynamics engineer as a personal project in the 1980's. Not quite historically accurate, as this type of drum wasn't used on this type of gun, but great fun to shoot.

I don't have a clue about the pistol. It was registered in the 1968 Amnesty, and the registration form I have says "German Manufacture" It is a buzzsaw! The whole clip is gone in a nanosecond.

Maybe one of you can tell me about this pistol. I found it when I was in my moms attic in a box of my Dad's old stuff. It obviously is inoperative but Im still interested in finding out about it.

Its a .25 and on the side it says:

RINO-RIGARMI-BRESCIA Cal 6.35 <.25>

On the other side it says:

MADE IN ITALY HIJO

Ive found small bits about it but nothing conclusive.

Looks like a "Saturday Night Special" to me. Piece of shit. What a woman carries in her purse, one shot is usually all they are good for. I have a .22 similar to that brand new the thing jammed after 1 round, JUNK! But still a cool find.

Oh and for the record, read up here on the term "Saturday Night Special"

That is a SWEET pistol, when searching Grandmas crawl space, my dad and I found one still in the grease that rumour has it was taken from a dead German Soldier in the war. But it went missing, I think grandma tossed it since she hated guns so much! My god what that would have been worth NOW! UGGGG!
