There's a different thread about that. But anyway I don't get people's extreme like or dislike for NIN. Why can't people just not care?

The biggest gripe I hear is that they're not industrial enough. WTF, they make music, who cares what genre it fits into. Also, as Trent has aged, his music has progressed so often I have no idea if you're complaining about his music from the 80's, 90's, or 2000's. Each decade is completely different. If he still rocked out like he did in the late 80's I guarantee I still wouldn't be listening.

I'm actually not too much of a fan of his really hard stuff. Though I like Broken and Fixed along with Further down the Spiral and some Pretty Hate Machine. Then the next era was The Fragile stuff which is excellent. As for the last few albums, they're okay after listening through a few times I don't mind them.

I'm a fan of his mellow soundscapes and a lot of unreleased music or stuff on limited "special" cd's.

So as for being a rip off band, who is he ripping off? He hates big record labels. He hates the RIAA. He just makes music, and as far as I can tell it's very artistic and original.
