there was a thread going over in the Northeast subforum and it dealt with abandoned Mustangs... I made a couple of posts and this little douchenozzle gets on there and just made a comment that pissed me off a wee.
http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=62340

this is the post by me responding to him...

Well we own a warehouse space for our family run business where we would keep it if we were working on it together but without his blessing its a no go. Im saving until I can buy one and just restore it straight through.. But Im planning on having a 429 super cobra jet custom built to drop in it. So that would be the one thing Id probably hold off on($$) as long i can find a used engine that isnt a piece of shit to get me by.

good luck finding a 385-series Super Cobra Jet
Very few built, most were Drag Pack cars and most are gone.
Big Block Fords are getting ridiculous to find, and besides, you'd be better off with an FE-series, 428 Cobra Jet anyways. They were a fearless big block.

Personally, in an old school Mustang, I much prefer the small blocks... they wind up fast, are a ball to drive, not too hard on the gas, are cheap to build and sound awesome through an exhaust.

and this is his back
What didnt you understand about custom built? there are companies, including Ford I believe, that will custom built a classic motor to spec for you.. Why would i want to hunt down a super rare beat to hell engine when i can spend a little more and get a new engine?

this comment really chapped my ass. i don't really know why... i'd rather have the original engine, not some *new* engine paid for with a gold visa card. I want something I found in a salvage yard and rebuilt with my own hands... i'm really sick of kids that think they know cars...

yeah, just bitching.
fuck it.

No wonder Ford is screwed! they make classic custom engines with modern FORD FAILURES such as OIL BURNING and sell them to SUCKERS like HIM!

i have a higher tolerance of toyota than honda. I find honda doesnt deserve its reputation with the ricers. They still build cars that bodywise are no better than the 91 geo metro. i generally find quality wise they build substandard cars. Toyota i can tolerate because they do generally build good cars, somewhat boring but good. Even hyundai, the quality improvement they have made in 20 short years makes honda look even more mickey mouse

Ricers are idiots, and their opinion on cars should be taken with a grain of salt. They don't understand that if you want a fast car, then buy a fast car. Not a Civic.

However, saying that Honda builds substandard cars is like saying that Corvettes are gutless. It simply is not true. The quality of my 07 Accord FAR surpasses that of the 04 Malibu that my wife owned. Interior quality, engine noise, handling, ride quality, ride noise, comfort, etc... My accord wins hands down. Honda is doing as well as they are BECAUSE of the quality they put into their cars.

I'm hoping that in 8 years when I need a new car that GM can offer something that compares. I see the 08 Malibu has had great reviews, and it is something that I will consider when I need a new car. I would LOVE to get behind an American car company.

What quality issues? There are several Hondas and Toyotas in my family with 250k plus. But on the same hand I also own a 95 GMC pickup that takes a pretty heavy beating, probably more so than my old mans Tundra would.

I'm really not trying to argue about it. I'm just curious.

I don't think quality issues can ever be hidden..... definitely not in mass quantity. Pesonally i think they spend big $$$ to avoid quality issues

I dunno... I've worked at a GM dealership for 3 weeks now. Our cars are fucking garbage. We've got cars that I've done PDIs on with serious electrical issues right off the truck. The most recent was a Buick Enclave which had no turn signals or windsheild washer.

Windshield washer turned out to be a wire inserted into the wrong hole in the body control module plug. Okay, shit happens.

Turn signals turned out to be a broken wire in the dome light circuit where the harness passes through the drivers door to the switch on the door latch. There were 3 other broken wires in this harness. This truck had 4 kms on the clock.

Not 4000. 4.

50% of the cars I PDI have some sort of issue. Not stuff like a badge on crooked, but stuff like ground wires that get torn off when you open the hood for the first time, or on their full size trucks- if the wipers don't work while you have the heated washers turned on, you should probably install a ground strap from your engine to the rest of the vehicle. Hmm.. great idea.

They can't make a wheel bearing.

The 4 and 5 cylinder engines in the Canyons and Colorados are good for about 60k miles before the head is fucked.

Intake gaskets? Need I say more?

What about rust? It's rare to find a Cavalier, Sunfire, Grand Prix, Malibu or Montana/Venture around here that still has rocker panels in it.

Sorry, but GM is going out of business for a reason.. they pay people with a grade 3 education WAY too much to put their shit together, and virtually have no quality control. The fact that out of the 6 mechanics we have at our shop and only one of them drives a GM product speaks volumes for these products.

Cobalt/G5? Okay... but the interior build quality is comparable to mid 80's Chrysler at best. Even the Corvette has an absolute shit interior build quality. Way too much plastic for a car that price, and it's not even an asthetically pleasing plastic. It's the brittle, cheap shit you'd find in a Cavalier.

The best car GM has? The Vibe. Toyota makes it. We sell lots, and we have never had one in for a major repair.

I've had 8 or 9 Toyotas now, they've all been great (aside from rust on some of the older ones), and I've driven the crap out of them all.

I've had a few Hondas. They've also been fantastic, and were all super high mileage cars.

I'm also fucking sick of the ricer tag.... yeah, the kid in the bone stock automatic Civic with clear taillights and a fart can? That's a ricer.

When I get called a ricer by dude in a primered '87 Z28-look Camaro because I'm in a Japanese car that has some aftermarket parts on it? Go fuck yourself, mullethead! You're just jealous that my car has fucking paint on it!

Bandi, the Enclave is actually a great seller to GM and actually required GM to put in a 3rd shift at the Delta, MI plant to keep up with demand.

GM still does a quality check before the car is put on the rack. I'm kind of puzzled how the car left the plant with no working turn signals and wipers. The turn signal check is one of the first things they do even. Not sure about the washer though. Maybe Samarui knows more. I'm leaning that something happened in transit, but even then...thats odd.

I don't really think the terminals on the body control module swapped themselves around in transit!

Even the way the wiring goes through the truck is scary... there's no wrap around the harness in most places, literally just a bunch of loose wires where they travel between the carpet and floorpan - definitely gonna have some issues there in the future.

Maybe some sort of Ford-loving Bizzaro Samarui was the driver on the car carrier did some un-authorized work

Chrysler I know used to if you ordered a car straight from the plant, they gave you the final test sheet...does GM do that?
