All performance figures aside... the plaid interior in the GTI is the fucking SEX.

cold comfort when you're getting your ass blown into the weeds by a Cobalt. By the way, Nismo, that interior is of an 05 model... 06-on have different steering wheels, HVAC and stereos.

'keeps up with'

yeah, but not 'gets around'
you're forgetting the factory Stage 2 kit with the niceties and all of the sudden, your VW is sucking pond water again.

have a nice day.

I will go to lapping. I see your in Montreal and there is a track called Shannonville located near Belleville which should be in the middle of Montreal and Toronto. Its $75 for 4 hours of lapping with controlled passing and good people. I could bring a stopwatch and time our laps to see who is the fastest. Would be a good enjoyable day. Let me know as I am serious.

I realize you go there as it's close to you but why not drive a bit and meet up? It could be fun and we get to put our cars where our mouth is.

Another options is which is closer to Ottawat but I have never been there so I dunno how to find out about the track days.

So tell them to come as there are some Cobalts owners you need to show what a real car is.

now now... i have yet to see a VW that can run me here.
I have even run with an Audi S4 over NY 9N between Bolton Landing and Sabbath Day Point, a stretch of challenging road lovingly called Tongue Mountain. Give the Cobalt credit where credit is due...

I just want the guy to come out but it seems he is already making excuses so he is full of it or knows he would lose a cheaper, better performing car.

I have the SS and the interior is crap but everything else seems to be pretty good considering its the fastest fwd car in North America. I love the turbo, love the Brembo brakes and the launch control which is what I don't mind the interior at all. I also like the 550 km I can go per tank.

Calabogie is pretty close to Ottawa, but it's close to $6k a day to rent it. Having said that, what an incredible track... we had a 911 GT3 out there doing some filming for Driver's Seat TV (I got to ride as a passenger in that one...), however I DID get to drive an '82 911SC out there for a few laps.
