Yes - my X2000 dissection guide. The 'extremely yellow' sounds iffy, but mine goes wonky if the little white plastic ring holding the emitter in slips, because the light won't go into the optics right. If your emitter's ok, it's likely to be an easy fix. I've only seen mine get moonglow-dim while staying pure white though.

Hmmm. The beam is still yellow. Now do I pitch it or try a new emitter?

That is strange. I'm guessing you've checked other batteries. Is the switch screwy? Otherwise, pull the emitter out, run 3.7v across it for a second and see if it's bright. If not, maybe it's time to start experimenting anyway.

XR-E R2 (WG). Not the newest Cree, but it also won't start cooking my flashlight. I have to admit I'm modding more for battery life than raw power, I'm sick of the thing getting dim over time. And the driver can sit in the bottom of the pill. But I think they might have changed the actual part up on me, so I think I'll get better results from NiMH AAAs than any other flavor.
