Actually... as much as I do love my derelict old slant 6 powered Dodge, I totally second that notion on the BMW inline six, nothing makes such a glorious sound. I miss my 325is and my Hartge.

i loved the S8 from that movie... BUT, if you liked Ronin, watch "Transporter 3". That Audi makes some insane fucking noises and has a good chase with an AMG Benz.

Hey I had an '06 Impala SS in today - wrong tranny but jeez, kind of an entertaining car to drive.

"GROOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAH!" "Hey I'm doing 120 miles an hour...."

the Impy SS runs fun... they are a hair faster than the Monte Carlo SS for some weird reason. My brother took me for a ride in when one when his dealership got a couple. There's something so wrong about a 303hp V8 and front wheel drive... until you drive it.

Sure it could. Chrysler and GM could merge.... they'd drop the Neon motor into the Cobalt.... and you'd be driving a Cobalt SRT-4

Or both Chrysler and GM could go bankrupt and we would be stuck driving Ladas.

I can't wait to see the police driving Toyota Avalons instead of Crown Vics.

Hopefully Nissan will keep the GT-R and Z lines going.

Charming. Gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling. Think I'll get that bottle of Crown Royal now.

I wouldn't be so sure about that! an Avalon is less then half a second slower off the line the a Cobalt SS (depending on your source) , and likely has a higher top speed. Add a police package and it'll likely keep pace if not leave you reading his rear license plate off the line.

Try a PIT Maneuver with an Avalon, I dare you. That thing will crumple like tin foil. Better yet; I hope they start driving Honda Accords.

I've seen a newer (2000) Tundra hit an older (1994) Nissan Pathfinder ... the Pathfinder had a scratch the Tundra needed a dent puller. They don't make them like the used too...

Then again that might go for all older/newer cars... I was rear-ended by an 2008 Cadillac DTS (in October 2007) in a 1994 Toyota Pickup (2WD 4 cyl) And the DTS front end crushed like paper ... all I had was a scratch on the back of the tailgate.

Though it doesn't look the Crown Vic will go away anytime soon:

Isn't an Impala unibody? they've been used as cop cars for years, and can assume for PIT maneouvers too.

the Impala is indeed unibody, the last iteration of the venerable W-body that has been in production since 1988. The front subframe of that car is a monster and an Impala will hit like a hammer. Go to a demolition derby sometime and if there is a Lumina or other W-variant, these things are the next best thing to a tank!
i had a beat to shit 93 Lumina for a winter beater back in 2006-2007... i would run into things for the sick ugly fun of running into things and the car was just impervious to damage.

yeah, yeah make a fanboy remark... i get it all the time, but seriously the Impala is one rugged little beater.
(unless it has a high mileage 3.4L... they had some issues)
