the aztec drove ok, had ok power and was ridiculously good at what it was intended for, but it was just too fucking out there for the buying public.

Buick Rendezvous which used the same platform as the Aztec ended up being popular as the non-ugly version of the Aztec and actually attracted younger buyers to the Buick name.

my cousin had a rendezvous, epic fail, windows kept falling in the doors and the thing ran like shit, so he got a malibu and seized the engine after 7000km.

My grandfather's Rendezvous just had a weird brake issue, but it was fixed by the dealer at no charge and it runs great.

The corvette was bad, this makes me wonder what kind of mind altering substances they were on. Although admittedly i would love to pull into the parking lot of the 100 dollar a meal restaurant here in town and do a burnout in this beast.

We get a lot of AWD Rendezvous owners complaining about a slight clunk when they take off. It's usually the $1400 driveshaft.

The air-ride compressors fail pretty frequently (about $1100), but that's the same as any GM vehicle with air-ride. They seem to mount them in places where mud piles up on them in a hurry.

i remember FoMoCo air rides were a nightmare to service as well... on top of that, the cars with the air ride could not be retrofitted to a normal suspension (went through this with a 90-something not-so Grand Marquis).

I always figured there was a reason every 90-something Lincoln Continental dragged ass.

And 50% of the time, if the car was lifted on a hoist without turning off the compressor, the air bags would burst.

Ugh.

That's such a shame. I want a DeLorean so badly.

And I know they have no redeeming qualities.

this is why i hate the rendezvous,

i dont know who in the R&D department thought making us all stare at this car's knickers was going to impress anyone, but I could care less whether some minivan has cast aluminum IRS parts on it. Pull the bumper back down where it belongs so it actually has a chance of doing its job properly.

no bumper really does it's job on modern cars/vans. They're just plastic bubbles strapped to the fronts and backs of whatever. Anything over 10km/hr and you've just bought yourself a fat repair bill
