Well, after a too long wait, and just in time for the swan song of my beloved General Motors, the Camaro is finally on dealer lots. It's pure sex in person. There isn't really a bad line on the car and the theme did carry off nicely in person. It seems trimmer than in the pictures and the rear doesn't seem to have the over-the-top kick up that the prototypes seemed to. At the quarter panel, it reminds me of C5 or C6 corvette, but the rest of the car is 100% Camaro. Those crazy Canadians from Oshawa built a sweet looking car.

I'm think of trading the Cobalt in for the V6 model... the V6 is 300hp!

you thought wrong.
from what is flying around on cobaltss.net, the Cruze will not be available in a coupe form, nor will it have any real sporting options, like an SS package. 100% boring ass people mover in the vein of Corolla and Accent.

V8 or go home

Have you guys seen the road tests of this, the Mustang and Challenger on Youtube? There's a few different ones, I'm pretty sure the V6 pulls 60 MPH in under 6 seconds and will still get almost 30MPG or higher on the highway!

I saw the challenger and the camaro in the city last weekend
Jacob Javits center car show, Prototype, Concept cars,2010 models. All that good stuff.
I sat in the camaro, I didnt like it.
Seemed like a chinsier version of the challenger.

Reminds of when 'Dukes when he worked for RGIS got his new 2006 Impala. The manufacture date on it was like August 20, 2005 which was a day I was in Oshawa/Whitby and drove by Oshawa Car Assembly.

Oddly enough, our dealership isn't gonna see them till August or September. We're 45 minutes from the 'Shwa and already have four of them sold. Just took in a nice Impala SS on trade for one.

We've had a few come by with manufacturer plates on them...

I wonder if anybody would do the COPO type order sheet, have one built with all comfort deleted, nothing but handling and performance options?

Would it be worth a ton of money in 20 years?

At Targa Newfoundland this year, there was a pre-production version of a Challenger SRT-8 with the "Track Pack"... massive Brembos, NO options at all (Crank windows, no a/c, no sound deadening, sunroof delete, no power mirrors, no carpet or anything in the trunk), but it had a GORGEOUS Hemi powerplant under the hood with a high rise intake that looked like the Eiffel tower (Slide a bag of ice right under it), ceramic coated headers, AEM fully programmable ECU, toggle switch for ABS braking, toggle for traction control and my favourite, lexan windows WITH the vin number etched in them.

Apparently they're going to be selling this model to the public... I guess that's if Dodge survives. We may be getting a Fiat with lexan windows instead.

I want one now!!!

Yeah, 30 to 60 days.

They expect bankruptcy to be over in that length of time with their partnership with Fiat.

Only lousy thing...30,000 people will be out of work until Chrysler is out of court and can restart their factories. UAW will own over 50 percent of the company when it's done and Fiat will be in with them.

I'm waiting to see what happens to GM.

It won't actually be the UAW that owns the majority stake in Chrysler. It is the unions retiree health care fund that will own the stake
