I'm also poly, and also recommend the ethical slut (even to mono people).
That said, I feel like poly is only a choice for some people. Some people can't stop themselves from destroying mono relationships(with no poly potential), and some people can't stop themselves from destroying poly relationships, and some people are blessed with the ability to choose. If you can choose... choose carefully. Having two full-time girlfriends is a huge time commitment. That said, I wouldn't have chose differently even if I could, even knowing how it all played out in the end.

There is a lot of talks on the subject of the ethic slut(which I only got half way through, because I lent it to someone else). But I've been reading pening Up by Tristan Taormino. A read I would suggest.
