Jesus, just like Samurai said, those cars were ubiquitous and then GONE. I don't think I've seen one in my travels in the last six months, I honestly cant remember seeing one driving around!

my 88 Cavalier RS 2.0L had the digital dash in it. When you got over 85, the speedo display would flash.

the 89 and later sunbird dash was nice though, my favorite hands down

the 86-90 Z24/RS dash
without hesitation... especially with the digital gages.

My grade 3 teacher had a red 1st generation Z24 Hatchback with the digital dash and pinstriping that faded from yellow to orange to red, then silver ground effects... such a cool little car.

i knew a guy who had a hatchback cimarron... well it was a hatchback cavalier with cimarron seats and front end. was a cool looking car. If i was going to frankencar an early 80s j body i would have made a z24 wagon

I always wanted to get a cavalier wagon and make it into a sunbird GT wagon with pop up headlights and stuff.

nice one, i liked the post 91 pop up headlights better than the pre, the post 91 had the 88 and later fenders, pre 90 had the pre 88 regular sunbird fenders. The sunbird SE also had the pop up headlights for a while. back to the GT wagon though, i would seek out an early sunbird wagon for the taillights to put on the cavalier. id even put the post 89 sunbird dash in the wagon. now thats a car gm never built!

Why? Pontiac actually produced a Sunbird GT wagon... VERY FEW were produced with the 165hp Turbo 2.0L

I'd probably stick with a 3.1, those turbo 2.0s didn't seem to hold together for extended periods of time.

Ditto with a '96 Impala SS wagon... although I've seen a few of those that have been made.

guy from the Albany area has a homegrown Impala SS wagon... it's very stealthy. It has an LS1 under the hood instead of the LT1.

Went to an Impala SS/B-body event in NH last month:

The car from New Brunswick is a funeral car!
