As some of may I have heard, I hit a deer with my old Honda Passport about two weeks ago and it ended up being some serious damage that wasn't worth the time and cost to repair (engine block crack).

So I decided to get new car. For $950 I picked up a 1994 Jeep Cherokee SE.



It needs some TLC; New plug wires, spark plugs, throttle body cleaned, brake pads and probably an oil change, but I am pretty happy with it.

Time for some mining trips!

Not sure how I have over looked this thread but fuck yeah hoss. 4.0 I'm assuming backed by the auto and a NP231? And a Dana 30 front (should be hi pinion, bonus and a Dana 35 rear, so sorry ). This should be fun.

So sad I'm the way about Cherokees that you are about Cavaliers and such. On second thought, if its an SE skelly tell me please o please its not a 2.5. Please tell me it isn't so. I know both engines were available in that trim.

Nope, I am smart enough to pick a Cherokee with the 4.0 litre High Output I6.

I just got done doing some needed work on it. Replaced spark plugs, distributor and rotor, replaced the valve cover gasket, put in a new battery (I didn't care for the battery in it and needed more power for radios) and changed out the fuel filter. Now, it doesn't have rough idle and purrs great.

Tomorrow, I need to take a trip to LKQ to see about getting marker light on the drivers side that actually HAS the light socket.

I still want a Jeep. You make me a sad puppy.

Right now it's a monetary issue. I can find all manners of $1200 4 litre 5 speed Cheros, it's just catching one when I have $1200 burning a hole in my pocket.

Yes. 80's. Stay away or kill it with fire. I love diesel but that engine, NO.

Well, I did some work today. The roof had two NMO mount antenna holes from its first owner, the US Gov't. So I got an NMO cable assembly and put in my nice 5/8 wave antenna on the roof and mounted my radio in the interior. I will be fixing the passenger side light later when my father comes over. Also need to get the AC working; the system is charged, but no cold air out so I think I need to look at the thermostat.

USFS not too long ago sold off their remaining Cherokees here; just look for there stylish green.
