Table top games anyone?

Anyone still play them? I rarely get a chance to play them but when I do it's always a good time.

I like Diplomacy, Zombies, and recently played Risk which is still fun.

I'm interested in Heroclix/Horrorclix but don't know if the gameplay is fun, or do people buy them more for the "collectable" aspect.

Playing with other people that you can see right in front of you is fun!

RISK is the best board game ever

We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained we must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be by the better angels of our nature.

Dungeons and Dragons & BattleTech, not traditional board games but definitely played on a table top. I rarely get a chance to play any more.

I was also in to the MtG scene. I have tons of cards gathering dust in the attic. Every now and then I break out the original MtG pc game (MicroProse) and go a few rounds.

I came across a discounted box of Heroscape in a comic book store a couple of months ago, and bought it just to check it out.

My kids and I have enjoyed it so much that I have now spent close to $200 on additional sets. Our current layout is about 4 feet by 5 feet.

mutantMandias may cause dizziness, sexual nightmares, and sleep crime. ++++ mutantMandias has to return some videotapes ++++ Do not taunt mutantMandias

mutantMandias is something more than human, more than a computer. mutantMandias is a murderously intelligent, sensually self-programmed, non-being

My friend used to have a neat PC game, I think it had up to 4th edition or something... that was neat. I dont think that would run on my computer today even if he still had the cd.

Sounds like the same game I have. It still works in XP, have not tried it in 7 yet. I can send you a link if you are interested.

sure, If I remember correct you could play straight matches and build your own decks or you could play a story/quest mode where you battled opponents and gained cards. The story mode also had a time limit which made it extremely hard to beat.

there are quite a few decks I've built that once you get a turn the computer never gets a turn after that... though the decks are not legal even in vintage because of 4 ancestral recalls and 4 time walks and 4 time twisters... etc.

You still have those ones we found at you-know-who's, right?

Soon I'll be starting a father & son D&D game. I've also played a bunch of other RPG's. I used to play war games, like Squad Leader and stuff like that. Played HeroClix for a while. Pretty fun, but you have to introduce new heroes a lot to keep it interesting. Recently picked up a game called Wooden Ships & Iron Men, which is a board game of ship combat in the age of sail. I also just got the rules to Trafalgar, which is the same thing, but with miniatures.

Did I mention I'm into miniatures? I've played a few miniatures games, but I mostly use them for RPG's now.

Played Risk a few times, but after playing war games that actually simulate historical events, Risk seems like a pale imitation.

Played MtG a couple times, but I still play the pokémon card game fairly regularly.
