Risk, Z-Mans "B-Movie" card games, assorted mimi-using games (no Warhammer for me though thanks) and almost any RPG you can name at one point or another.

I'm pretty happy - I started this thread because of a yearning to play some table top games. Then a friend invited me to join a D&D campaign, it's been years since I played a rpg. Shit happens for a reason!

oh sometimes I play magic (the gathering) however I haven't had time in a while.

I play MtG obsessively!

Other tabletop games I play include D&D, Risk, Zombies and Twilight Imperium (think risk in space with hundreds more rules).

I play standard, I'm thinking of getting into extended, but I play a lot of casual with cards mostly pre-8th edition.

A friend of mine is starting a father & son D&D campaign, but it's 2nd ed. I played 3.5 since it came out, and it's gonna be quite an adjustment. My other gaming group used to complain about 3.5, and D20 in general, but after reading the 2nd ed. PHB, I find myself liking 3.5 more.

Every play 4th ed.? How is it?

How can I put this delicately....it is an OK game, it's just not D&D.
Currently I'm running Pathfinder (Paizo's 3.5 derivative) and Call of Cthulhu (pretty much house rules are modified 5th ed). Playing 4th ed Shadowrun and hopefully someone elses Cthulhu game soon.

I wish I had a group interested in CoC. I'm writing a couple of longer adventures for it, but no one to playtest them. My D&D group isn't interested.

Change of plan, we're playing Mutant Future instead (never played this before).

Rules & char sheets: http://www.goblino.../mutantfuture.html

I have 6 decks of the CoC card game, but I like mythos collectables - haven't played with them yet.....

If you've played 3.5 a lot, 4's going to seem very linear (you can't put points into skills such as basketweaving, climb and swim, it's much more streamlined). It's still a lot of fun, and has some really cool content, but as of now there's waaay more out for 3.5, but more books are being made constantly. 4th also eliminates most penalties (such as level adjustment for certain races), making for a simpler experience.

2nd edition is simple.... it works like most oldschool video games you probably played such as the bard's tale and what not.... lower armor class means better, the rest of the categories are up to about 18 (higher being better) but some races give automatic bonuses to some categories on top of the 18.

personally that system is my favourite... i have not played much of version 3 back in the day but the little bit I did play I wasn't big into. We wound up making our own hybrid of 3 with version 2 rules.

I got started playing 1st ed., but that was a LONG time ago. (almost 30 years!) So 2nd seems like a modified 1st, but I liked the skills and stuff in 3.5, and how you didn't need to consult a table for everything.

The first Mutant Future session was a lot of fun. I'm a klutz since I fell down most every turn trying to run across rubble. And there was a lot of gun jamming during an extended wild shootout. We rolled pretty badly but still beat the gang of Pigmen.

I forgot how much fun it is to play a RPG with friends.
