Every day at GM I'd have a few cars in for interior rattles, we even stocked AC Delco Anti Rattle tape! I've had ONE in at VW since August, and it turned out to be a dime that fell in behind the console.

I'm doing about a tenth of the electrical repairs, too... and euro cars are supposed to have dodgy electrical systems.

Of all the new cars I have driven in the past 5 years, I've never noticed any rattling from plastic even in cars which far as I am concerned are made with Legos.

Dude you cant possibly be talking shit about poor plastics when you are driving a VW product around. Thats just impossible.

Haven't heard of any yet. But they definitely used a shitty plastic.

The GLI has a squishy dash and door panels again at least. And it has rear suspension.

90,000 miles and my Cobalt doesn't rattle, even in the cold (although it should because of the shitty roads. The original stabilizer bar links did rattle, but they were replaced with a better part under warranty. Still no rattle)
113,000 miles and the only thing that clunks on my Beretta is the control arm bushings. Again, this is old because the build quality on the L-body was so hit or miss. You either got a good one or a bad one.
27,000 miles on my mom's G6 sedan... no rattles. (but this is also the fleetbeater 1SV package, 2.4L VVT)

i'm sure you'll just have some witty fucking comeback... tell me how perfect your import is.

All I can say is your mom has the ONLY G6 ever made that doesn't rattle. They were known for that. I used to hate getting them in on trade, because one of the checkboxes on the Optimum inspection is "check interior for trim noise".

But, someone had a sense of humour, because every single thing on that list had "OK", "Requires Attention" and "N/A", so they generally got "N/A".

I also always used to check "N/A" on the acceleration and handling options of Aveos when they came in.

like I said, her's is that awful 1SV base package... hubcaps, no cruise, base stereo... it's in battleship silver, too. Personally, i don't like the car, but I don't like sedans anyway. But, seriously, it doesn't rattle amazingly enough. Now, my friend Matty's 06 G6 coupe, yeah, it rattles... Matt doesn't realize that you're not supposed to drive through craters.

with the gms ive had, the 3 W bodies ive owned ive had very quiet suspensions, but interior finish stunk, j bodies, well front ends clunk and bang when its cold. the cavalier dashboard was designed by a drunk retarded spider monkey, having to disassemble the entire dash to change the radio is silly, in its sister the sunfire you can swap a radio in 10 minutes and lets not get started on the modular stereos in the 89-93 sunbird and ck pickups

...which I thought were interchangeable. Friend's stereo crapped out in his truck, so I got him one from a Sunbird. No deal.

that was one thing i fucking hated in the three 3rd gen Cavaliers I had... why the fuck was the radio so hard to get out? Why did one have to completely disassemble the goddamn dash? I remember the Neon, you just had to pull up on the top panel of the dash and you could get the cluster and radio out.

what got me, having had the sunfire and knowing you can get the radio out in 2 minutes i thought changing my radio in the cavalier would have been a no brainer. the other boner GM pulled was in the minivans and impalas, the radio that is an interface for all kinds of programming on the thing!

oh and then in the W body grand prix the DIC. in the 1997 they gave you the plugs for both the analog and digital DIC. in my 2002 im going to have to modify the harness to put the digital DIC

It's like VW and their radio codes.

NO ONE is gonna steal a factory radio. NO ONE.

Even the New Beetle tape deck has a code. It only fits the New Beetle dash... WHO THE HELL IS GOING TO STEAL IT?

I had a 1993 Sunbird for a while. The radio was a tiny square thing. I have no idea where you would even put a replacement radio.

the crutcfield kit came with a bracket to put it in the hole just above the tape deck, it also gave you storage bins for the tape deck and head unit hole
