I've never driven one, but for that price, I'd go with something with more power. Then again, I'd love to have an Ecoboost Mustang or a twin turbo V6 Camaro, which would likely be every bit as spendy and not as nice.

sooooo much fun to drive, and easy to get hp out of it with bolt ons. Just a juice box adds something like 60hp

Ronny was looking at the M 1-Series, Audi A3, the Camaro SS and the Challenger R/T.
from what I got last night online playing Dirt 2, it was between the Beemer and Camaro.

awesome looking, great to drive. For the price though you can likely get into a really good 3 series with only a few more miles on it or a year older.

Forget the a3 (coming from a guy driving a b7 a4). Can't get them standard with the quattro which kills the deal for me. Quattro is the only reason for getting an Audi, otherwise get a gti. My dads wife has a brand new 135i and it is absolutely fantastic. Very balanced.

Never heard anything bad about the awd on the tt or the r32. I have even read multiple reviews of the tiguan where they rave about the efficiency of the 4 motion system. It seems to be one if is strong point. Only downfall I see is the diff oil and filter maintenance which you don't have to do on torsen cars.

I found the mk5 r32s that I drove not much different in snow then my a4...

torsen is full time 50-50 awd
haldex is slow to kick in, it only sends power to the back wheels when it detects slip in the front

I talked to Ronny again today. He went in to look at the Beemer in his winter beater (a 2001 Ford Focus in metallic blue/rust two tone). They wouldn't even talk to him when he walked into the showroom. I know this guy. He makes almost 6 figures a year, but because he wasn't driving a high dollar car, the salesweenies avoided him like the assplague.

Are all high dollar dealerships like this?
or is it just Vermont?

Depends on the dealer, i started an online crusade to ruin one of the dealers, it got to the point where they called me at work and told me to STOP and had all the posts deleted off the forum lul.

this was the Automaster in Shelburne VT
they're a bunch of snooty fucks... now Lewis Audi/Acura was a pretty good dealer, but they were bought out by the folks that own Shearer Chevrolet.

I don't need to tell you my friend was pissed. He's going two hours away to Keeler in Albany to drive one of these Beemers.

When I was making good money, I stopped by a Hyundai dealership to look at one of their used cars. Asshat sales man looks at me in my primed loud ass 69 Jeepster Commando and his first words are, you need at least a $1000 down to finance, just so you know. And we don't take anything older than 10 years on trade. I pulled out $3000 I had in my pocket and said, you were soooo close to getting a commission fucker and walked out. Never went back again. I had just got off work, so I was in my old jeans, old t shirt, and still had my safety vest on. Never felt soooo pissed in all my life, and at a hyundai dealership no less.

We used to make a hobby out of test driving high dollar cars. We usually tried for Porsches. We'd go to the lot in an 87 Honda Accord. It looked good, but was clearly a 20 year old car. That experience taught me that you can judge a dealership in about 30 seconds. The best ones would have a salesman come out, introduce himself, ask if you needed help, and would go away until you had questions or wanted to test drive one.

If a dealership snubs you because of what you drive up in, they don't need the business.

Sales people are taught to qualify their buyers first. Right or wrong, that's how she goes

when i was car shopping over the last two months nobody questioned me on anything assuming that the hummer was a big dollar ride, which it's not. so when the hummer was in for its final service in edmonton, i rented a car for the day, a suzuki shitbox of some sort. i could barely get the keys to anything!
