| | | Posted by buckybear I was drunk when I posted the riced out Toyota, I thought it was a Scirocco but after enough whiskey it could have been a Viper for all I knew. Why all the hate anyway. my parents wrecked a Cavalier and walked away from it. I never liked the car when they owned it I always thought it was a flimsy piece of crap. After they survived a roll over and bouncing off a large boulder by the side of the road I changed my mind.
| my friend's aunt was run off the road (US 4) by a drunk driver over in Vermont... She hit a culvert, sliding, coming down from 65mph and the car went end over end about four times, hit the ground and rolled over another three times. (this was from the people behind her that called 911) You couldn't even tell it was a Cavalier... it was a teal lump. She got out of it with a broken ankle, bruising and cuts from the busting glass. She actually managed to crawl out of the car. What was funny is the doors stayed latched through the experience. That vintage Cavalier (91-94) had seatbelts in the doors (which i always thought was a questionable idea..). As fucked up as that car was, as violent a series of impacts that car took... she should've of died. Shael and I were talking about Beretta's one night as she was fond of mine and she was telling me about her college roommate and the night her Beretta hydroplaned off I-81 north of Syracuse. Going 85mph, she hit the guardrail and rolled over about 4 times, flipped around mid-air, bounced off two large trees and landed in the median upside down. She got out of it with some bumps and bruises, but walked away from it. It held together. Now, as a Beretta owner and a Chevy fan... i've gotta tell you, these cars were not very well assembled. A very hit or miss car... But it did its job and held together. Wasn't it Big Dave that got in a pretty bad wreck in a Cobalt a few years back in Long Island? Got drilled at an intersection?
