I always snickered at the fact that the Henry Ford II first thought the idea from Iacocca of a "van you can put in a garage" would not sell then when the Caravan/Voyageur took off in sales, Ford takes the Ranger and makes a van out of it.

I saw my original Caravan yesterday! Black '86 carbed 2.2 liter, grey interior, AM single speaker radio with digital tuner, no third row seat. No headrests. No a/c. Didn't really have cupholders, but cut "platforms" above the radio. Had more squeaks and rattles than a daycare center.

My grandfather bought it brand new, my dad bought it off him in '91.

When my dad sold it in 2001, it had 485,000 km on the clock, no rust other than the tailgate, and had less repairs than most lawnmowers. Probably because they had more horsepower.

I need to find out who owns it now, curious to see where the old girl has been.

Ranger.

Colorado is a flaming piece of shit. Badly engineered Isuzu junk. Same price as a full size truck. VERY expensive to fix. Yeah, let's mount the brake rotors inboard to the bearing assembly, thus resulting in $800 front brake jobs. Drives like a Tempo, but with less power. The cylinder head on the 4 and 5 cylinder engines tends to warp, the timing chains are weak, the 4 wheel drive system is shit, if the centre joint on the driveshaft fails, you need a new driveshaft ($1400), and it will fail.

The Ranger may be obsolete, but it's sure as hell been proven.

The "centre joint" is called a carrier bearing.

Fucking moron.

as a good a truck as it is, you're paying a premium for a nameplate.
ranger will do the same job at half the cost.

you would know.
you're an expert. every post from you expresses what a tool you really are.
if you had bothered to read the post, fuckhole, you would've understood what I was saying.

but no, it's easier to demonstrate what an asshole you are.
congratulations on being an asshole.
