ok yea, i just switched to the ic7-g.
any way good processor choice,

thanx,
do you know how to set up a computer?

I know how to assemble it, if that is what you mean.
Are you going to game on this computer?

possibly, probably not until X-mas
What do you mean by switch the case back?

By switching the backside of the case so the motherboard can fit in the case.
also would you like to buy my Nvidia mx440 video card for 20 bucks?
Umm, is it sorta new? good condition? PCI?
Anyway, if you dont have any idea about setting up a computer I will do it for like 20 bucks
Ummm, I don't think so... but if I actually do need you I will give you a call.

Thanx for your help

DID you buy this yet.
The IC7-g isnt compatible with your processor. The video card is AgP, it is a 64 mb mx440 its about a year old but i havent used it since summer, also remember to be touching the case of the computer when building it, other wise youll short it.

Yeah the motherboard is in a different chipset and does NOT support the new intel prescott processor, thankfully the a17 which i posted on that list does have prescott support.

Depending on your price range this http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=24-116-229&depa=1

is an excellent monitor, although i dont suggest getting a monitor online.
For 2 reasons
1. Usually monitors will break in shipping process. My friend had 2 break in shipping.
2. Shipping a monitor is expensive. If it breaks in the mail you got to send it back which is hella expensive.

I recommend you go to compusa or microcenter to get a monitor, they usually have damn good deals.

I'll probably get one from the store, I never thought about a monitor breaking in the mail. It is so sad that all the monitors in SSB are being wasted like that...

do you have a copy of XP or 2kpro?

If the money is tight, I recommend an AMD Athlon based system. I'm ditching my Intel P4 system for an AMD based one this summer anyway. Much more bang for the buck. If you do go that way, go for at least an Athlon 3000+ with a Barton core. I suggest a 3400+ if you can swing it. ASUS has some nice AMD boards but so does MSI. I'm getting this for about $350 from tigerdirect:

AMD Athlon 3000+ Barton (333mhz FSB, 512k L2)
some Biostar board (can't remember model but its pretty good)
ULTRA 400W PSU
Red Full ATX case with side window and fan with ports for even more fans.
