My friend's gastank is holding with zipties.

It's an old 1980-era pickup truck, the battery once fell out of the truck while he was driving because of all the rust.

Don't worry, it's for offroad use only.

Interestingly, since Black & Decker and Stanley merged, they now make some tools for Mac Tools and also, Canadian Tire's MasterCraft brand

I don't hate Mac stuff, but lately all their catalogs have had are greasy shirts, jackets and shitty hats with camo print and about 4 tools.

exactly. not all mechanics are hillbillies. Whatever happened to just a red white blue black or gray shirt that has a logo on it? When did hillbilly camouflage become de rigeur?

Wait, you don't want skulls on everything?

Skull hubcaps, shirts, hats, decals, air fresheners.. It's the Belleville way.

Admittedly, I don't know if I own a single Craftsman tool (other than a kickass lawn tractor)... Canadian Tire (which you guys obviously don't have in non-canada) has the best cheap tools. Basically rebadged Stanley stuff.

The mastercraft tools also have a kickass lifetime warranty

I've had good luck with my shit. The convenience is nice... those of us that don't work as a professional mechanic don't exactly have many chances to get to the snap on guy for a new ratchet.

and i tell you the lifetime warranty is true. I had 2 bolts holding the mc pherson to the knuckle i coulndt get undone and couldnt find my breaker bar. I used a ratchet as a hammer on the other one. broke it took it back, crappy tire exchanged it.

i have this kick ass ratchet (most of the sockets are missing) my dad bought in the 60s at monkey wards. its a power kraft, turns out it was monkey wards house brand. any ways this ratchet is a weapon!

Yep, I've brought back ratchets broken in half after putting a 5 foot long cheater pipe on them, and they've been replaced with no questions asked.

NAPA has their "Evercraft" tool line... back when the Monte Carlo was spewing coolant, I ended up breaking a 3/8" ratchet trying to get one of the alternator bracket bolts free. They replaced it.
(i didn't tell them that I had a 3ft billy bar on it and I was just about standing with all 300lbs on it)

My team (Canadian Tire) is clearly instructed, if it's a Mastercraft product, find a way to warranty it. PERIOD.

As far as Stanley goes, they are the largest tool company. Prior to buying Black & Decker, who also owns Dewalt, B&D bought Delta (stationary tools), Porter Cable (portable tools) & Devilbiss (air tools) from their parent company Pentair. They are massive!

Rockwell has been gone for many many years.
I don't know if i've got the order or dates right...

Rockwell created the Delta brand in like the 40's
In the 50's they bought Beaver Tools

To my knowledge there were tools right up until the late 70's that were either Rockwell or Beaver-Delta branded or Rockwell Beaver Delta.

Somewhere in there the Rockwell name was killed and everything became Delta and then came Porter Cable as Delta's portable division.

***

I just discovered something interesting that I didn't know. in January the Delta name was bought from Stanley by Chang Industrial of Taiwan. Lucas Chang was for many years the dude who owned the factories that were making most of Delta Porter Cable products in Taiwan and China.

My father was king of the castle at Delta Porter Cable in Canada for many years that's why this one is close to me. I met Lucas Chang many times when he was doing business in Canada with my Dad. Super mega rich dude!
