The best thing that could have happened to this damn thing was Breaking Bad. Every time I see an Aztec I think it's a meth dealer.

Yeah, the Aztec ranks right up there with the Pacer & Gremlin!

Some may find fault with this, but when creating this thread I was thinking more of cars with definitive styling which has held up over the years, or older...which doesn't fit many of the above, in my opinion. For example, compare the Ro80's design to the 3rd-generation Audi 100/200/5000...when other manufacturers are using the same styling cues 15 years after the design has been introduced, then that's a design that holds up well.

I do agree with some of yours: the original Corvette, the 90s Camaro, and pretty much any Nissan besides the 370Z, which is just butt-ugly.

Edit: Add the Audi to this list also. And these...

http://upload.wiki...be_liftback_02.jpg
http://porsche-ins...9/Subaru-SVX-3.jpg

...still look like they could be rolled off as concept cars over 15 years after they were introduced.

Mazda engineers referred to the Probe as the 'pretty' one when they were doing the work on the Probe and MX-6. That car suffered from wonky mechanicals, though. Personally, i found they were one of the most attractive cars that Ford produced in the mid-90's.

Now, the SVX is kind of an enigma... it was supposed to be a sports car that didn't come with a manual transmission? The styling was great, interior full on functional, but... they went the way of the XT and disappeared into obscurity.

as for the Aztek... well, yeah, it was shit. What did suck is it had one of the most useful and logically laid out interiors I have ever seen. What's even weirder is that every Aztek owner i've ever talked with LOVES that ugly ass of a car. WTF?

Definitely a love/hate relationship. Hate was the majority though.

Ever see the tent they came with? From what I gather, you could get a tent that connected to the hatch or some shit.

I assume the grill was for setting the car on fire and the tent for sleeping in after the fact?

Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing.

you shithead. no, the whole point of the car was supposed to be aimed at the active outdoorsy 20-somethings... of course, it was failure from Day One. My friend Will and his ex-wife had one after trading in her failing Oldsmobile Intrigue a few years back. They loved it. Room for the kids, room for their stuff, had AWD so it would get up their hill in the snow. I think had the car had BETTER (oh please yes) styling, it might've actually been a good car. But, fuck, it was like Quasimodo on fucking wheels, just ugly all day long.

Hahaha.

My Vote does go for the Cherokee. Because from 1984 to 2001, there was only changes in the engine, interior & nose so it shares a few more parts with the Grand Cherokee. For 17 years, they used the same tooling & assembly lines at Toldeo Assembly and then even after 2001, they sent the tooling to China where the Cherokee continued in production until 2005 by the old Beijing Jeep alliance which goes back to AMC.

i'll take you to a junkyard full of jeeps so you can have a fap-a-thon.
Also, the mopar cop cars were mostly Satellites and Fury's/Gran Fury's in the mid-70's into the early 80's when they were replaced, unfortunately, by the Diplodog.

They need to send them to the Pacific NW where the Cherokee lives on

Yup...the Gran Fury was was nice cop car...though I'm more fond of the AMC Matador that LAPD had during the same time period.

My wife agrees, course she’s a biased “Prissy Hick” (her words, & i'm always embarassed to drive it now, too).

Is that offer open to anyone (short of the fap-a-thon)?
Maybe you could squeeze in a quick tour of the mill, too!?
