I have been in the buildings where shots 2 to 6 were taken, interesting place. One of the basements has black mold and needles still on the shelves. Creepy stuff. Good set!
I have a few photos up of that place somewhere...

Cool shots but cropping to square when shooting digital always seems like a copout

The only reason I say that is because, when someone crops to square they are trying to emulate cameras like a Hasselblad or other 6x6 format cameras and personally I feel like if someone wants a square image they should do it with one of those cameras.

I shoot with digital and 6x7 film and I often use a diversity of crops. As long as the composition is solid, cropping to 1x1 or any other aspect ratio is perfectly fine if that's what you're composing, regardless of what other cameras shoot in that ratio natively. I often plan for crops while framing my photos. It's not at all an emulation for me, I do however almost alway crop to a standard ratio for common print sizes.

Sorry but this is just a dillhole mentality. Get over yourself. People have their own aesthetic sensibilities and aren't even necessarily aware of whatever expensive jerkoff cameras you think the world needs to revolve around.

Well said. I would think it's better to have a wider ratio and then be able to crop to whatever the hell you want later.

Interesting to see that you only replied to the one dickheaded, narrow minded comment and chose to completely ignore all the positive compliments you received.
