| | | Nov 19 Toronto UE Meet < on 11/3/2005 8:16 PM >
| | | Our next scheduled UE meet is on November 19th, and I'd like to hold it in a different location than the usual Liberty cafe. Does anyone have suggestions for locations in which there may be a lot to explore? -av

| | | We generally have enough vehicles to go anywhere from the meet, don't we? So isn't it more a question of a centralized location with good transit access? The thing is the Liberty cafe actually suits this really well. However I agree with you Av in that I'd rather have a different location. You know what place is awesome? The Pickel Barrel.

| | | As long as it's even a bit closer to a subway stop it's all good. Maybe somewhere else sort of like the Liberty café? Everyone shows up at different times, and the café's good in that you dont have to sit down, look at a menu, and wait for your order like a restaurant.

| | | Something like the Cafe would be nice, for the reasons Cheesemaster stated. I don't mind long transit rides as long as it actually gets me close.

| | | The café only works if people bring cars. Because if we end up walking about then we're limited to the same locations close to the café and everyone has already been to those locations 10x over.

| | | That doesn't sound too bad. Some of us explorers here in Hamilton take frequent trips out to Niagara region to do exploration. If theres a large group of GTA'rs coming out this way, we could probably organize a meetup somewhere in the falls or wherever. I can't really speak too much on our behalf though as I'm not one of the people here who has a car. If theres a solid interest I'll discuss with everyone in the Hamilton forum and see what they think. [last edit 11/8/2005 10:04 PM by Stewie - edited 1 times]

this sounds interesting however this thread is titled "...Toronto UE Meet" not that im going to complain or anything. what about a place like shepard and young there are like 100000000 condos in different stages of completion there ... an di would be a fan of finding that abandoned shoppopingcenter / movie theater at king and young i think... ? is this the Sheraton Centre Suplex mentioned ? as well i was wondering is mabey doing a night meet might work a little better ... or if not mabey looking for a good building ( hotel? office? ) and calling ahead to posable warn them of the (possibly) large groups of .... school students/aspiring architects/ party goers / ( if dressed appropriately ) investors, insuraces sales people, or otherwise. Allowing us to enter and explore with such a large group ? just an idea.

We tend to get bored of the same stuff, not every location can accommodate a large group of people and thats why we end up visiting the same things and if the opportunity to roadtrip off to somewhere out of town arises, why the hell not!? In the past we've gone out to: Edgar near Barrie, the psych in Whitby or that bizarre time the Hamilton explorers came to Toronto and we went to explore in Hamilton. If there's a bunch of people driving maybe we should goto the Prince Edward Heights psychiatric Hospital in Picton, its a long way out but its pretty wicked sweet and easy to access. And remember, the closer to December 21st we get, the closer we get to sundown at like 3:30pm, so day isn't really a problem anymore (though I actually prefer day to night) and the further north you get the colder things get. Ah yes, memories from the November 2004 meet "Dude, there's snow here."

If we go to Niagara, big deal. I remember a meet ending up north of Barrie. As long as there is enough cars, I don't see a problem.

| | | Yeah it accommodated 17 people well too... but no then on a later date on a night trip we traversed no further because two people got extremely paranoid. There was way to much credit being given to the security that night.
