"Doors Open"

Anyone else hit "Doors Open" this weekend? I am in the Niagara Region. I hit up the following locations:

Welland Fire Hall:

Welland Court House:

Loretto Academy in Niagara Falls:

Also stopped at Sir Adam Beck 1, it sucked, not even worth taking pictures. And we also stopped at that abandoned caboose in Niagara Falls on the way home as well, very cool place:

Second one is my favorite. Great pictures as usual. The only thing missing is me being there with you to take pictures.

Thanks to Skelly for finding the OLD pic in this comparison. I just thought this was so cool I did a little before and after! Amazing what time ( 7 Years ) and distance ( Sudbury to Niagara Falls and who knows where in between ) can do to an object.

Nice shots. Love the Welland Courthouse and Loretto Academy ones. I did a few sites for Doors Open Niagara but on the american side. It's much less busy than the Doors Open Toronto weekend. It was nice not having to fight through crowds for photos.

so, were there any ultra-cool tunnels underneath loretto, or anything else that could be classified as ultra-cool? or mega-cool.

So the control dam and Beck's pumping station were part of Doors Open?

No I asked about that too, and nothing really too cool to report in the way of secret passages and such, but a very cool building itself, lots of history.

When you guys are down in Niagara, do you/ have ever gone to Love Canal? EPA superfunds site fascinate me. I wanted to drive around there when I was there in july, but had to do the whole " family tourist thing".

note to self- if getting remarried, elope.

40+ year olds with Myspace pages are not cool, they are pediphiles on the prowl. Buyer beware.

places like this amaze me. Most of my family grew up in that area and other hazmat areas in western upstate NY. So for as long as I can remember, Superfunds sites have been my favorite to explore. The first place I explored was a tannery, which is now on the their NP list.
