Oh the great American Laundry Machinery Company....

For those of your who have been here, it is easy to say it is one of the greatest sites in all of Rochester.

I recently made the trip, which involved finding a really sketchy way in, taking over four hundred photos, climbing a 50 foot tall coal tower and trying to carry a wrecking ball out (It weighed over 300 pounds, so there was no way I was moving it)...

Here are some teaser shots of the inside...

http://cat.org.au/~predator/approach.txt

There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part; you can't even passively take part, and you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop...

I'm having a tough time understanding what this place is like, you first shot gives me the impression its just a large warehouse full of rubble and paint flakes. I think some more pics would help.
Again with the second one, i cant really tell what im looking at.
a tripod and some more creative angles would be my suggestion for future explorations.

Basically this is only 1/16th of the entire building. The building was used to produce industrial luandry machines, and has been vacant for quite some time now.

Thanks for the advice on the photo's, I'm working on it...

More pictures to follow tommorow when I have access to a computer that actually uploads

And again, sorry about the shakiness of the photos, I was shooting with my little Kodak V603...

Don't worry, I just upgraded to a Nikon D70.... Now I just need to wait for her to come!

Please order that tripod ASAP too.

I'm sure the pics do not do the place justice, but thank you for sharing.

better camera won't necessarily get better pictures - and certainly wont get rid of this shakiness. you need a tripod to fix that.

if you can use a faster shutter speed, you won't get camera shake.
