Hiya, I'm in Portland. New here, but I've done a bit of driving around..

There's not much in Portland, but plenty around the area...

Acton, ME. Right near Sanford and all that good stuff.

I mean I don't live there but I go there often

Has anybody been on Rt. 1 up near Calais? I heard a rumor that there were some ghost towns up there, and wanted to have confirmation before I took the trip.

I know the first two, but the last ones I am unfamiliar with, though I THINK I know what the 3rd shot is. You'll have to PM me.

Hey, I know you! We should explore again sometime, especially now that the ground isn't covered in a sheet of ice.

I consider myself pretty up on Maine UE, and I've never heard of the Stooges.

Let's look this statement over.......you live in Maine and claim to be "up" on exploration and you have never heard of the Stooges? They have probably explored your house at night and you never even knew it, that's how stealthy I've heard they are. Probably best if you turn the light on when you head to the bathroom.

Yes yes yes!

Also, to add to the thread: I spend part of my summers up on Sebago Lake in Raymond. I've noticed a few things in that general area during drives from the NH seacoast up that way.

I posted that a long time ago. I've heard of them by now, and yes, those guys are some crazy mofos.

Rumor has it that the name is being patented before t-shirts start popping up on the UE scene, which is odd because I heard they are invisible.

Hello, I just recently joined this site in the hopes that I could meet some people in or around Portland to go exploring with. My boyfriend and I are new to the area and really miss exploring. We're originally from Maryland and are unfamiliar with any good sites up here... if anyone can make some recommendations (we're in Scarborough but don't mind traveling), or if anyone would like to get a group together, please let me know. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I'm new to UER but I've been an exploring since my early teens. I grew up in Belfast and have explored a few good sites both there and in Bangor where I currently live. I've recently been on a bit of a hiatus because I've been very busy with school/work and the people I used to UE with have lost interest.

...and then we got caught.

I'm from the Portland area but I explore Bangor at least once a year. You have loads of good stuff up there.

I'm from the Portland area and don't know damn near anything about good spots in the area, I'm fairly new to this.

This thread has been quiet for a while, but are there any southern mainers up for adventure anytime soon?
