Toronto meet for March 2010. Needless to say post your pics and/or stories here.

Group was pretty eventful yesterday. From getting a scare in a local warehouse and getting to know the Simes building quite well from hiding in it from security, to a vengeful building that was quite apt to let a single person in and out of the building but as soon as everyone got inside the doors locked on us...

Eventually one of the group found some blue prints of the building in the main offices of the workers and found some places out, but we stumbled upon a door that looked like the alarm on it was not installed. Guy across the street must have been wondering why six people just exploded out the doors of a construction office at 11 at night...

Eventually went to a condo that was under construction that had a wide open pair of doors directly on street level. Went up some 40-50 stories and then climbed the crane that was on top of that....I still cant get out onto the tail or away from the center of the crane..just a bit to high...

Anyway here are some pics, most likely other members will post their pics from the crane and what not as well.

Yah..we went into a building opposite and eventually noticed two well concealed contacts on a door.... got the hell out of there and two security cars came in to the property. 1 left and the other sat right in front of the garage doors for a good hour or so.

P.s..the unicycle was not us..it was a group of others.

Regrading Symes another explorer from here ran into them a few months back..they seem to be inconsistent, but I'm sure they know of meets. The other building always has someone there, not sure what's going on there, it looks abandoned.

Same here, but I figured because he was there because it was the day of Halloween.

Yeah, those security guys scared me a bit. That was so... random. All in all a good meet, we did end up doing something neat. My legs are sore, and I had nightmares all night about the section of crane I was on falling out from under me, plunging to my... And so on. (My, that WAS dangerous.)

When my computer is back up I'll have some photos.

Things didn't go particularly exciting at the first part of the day. The Symes places and that whole ghetto complex around it weren't particularly useful for anything (except possibly getting injured). Watch out for screws sticking out of the door!
The adventure part (as Daishi mentioned), began with the funny magnetic lock (which would let in and out a "drunk" Russian, but would trap a bigger crowd.) It was too much hassle to get out the cameras in there during the frantic search for a safe alternative exit, so that batch of "top secret" blueprints will remain secret.
The major upgrade in the adventure happened by the end of the day which made it possible to look down on so much and so many... The wonderful 40 or so storey tower which you keep seeing everytime you go to the meet, would let us in without jigsaw traps. The view from there is stunning... especially if you go up even higher. It is certainly better than CN tower, in which, from all the awesomeness, you are separated by a thick greasy glass.
Here, it was pure. Here, was just you and the height.
I only regret that I didn't have gloves in the cold.

Some pictures follow...

Well, a bunch of us went to Symes at the Feb meet... and had no trouble getting in or out with no sign of security. I dunno if they know of meets or if they just have people call in to report... in any case, very inconsistent.

We didn't GO to Symes...there is another fence and it is in a different complex then Symes..its just beside it and it was used as a hiding spot from security.

When I got popped there, secca was sitting in his truck inside the building in the back. Not sure if they bother to roam.

Yikes! I'd probably pee myself, cry, and then faint. In that order.
Kudos to everyone who went out to this meet, sounds like it was a blast! Unfortunately, I'll no longer be able to attend TO meets because I now have a mandatory shift at work from 9-5. Not that I frequented them anyway, but now the option is gone and that makes me sad.

Also, is Kodak still there or...?

Yeah, I've been watching that building pretty regularly. The offices are empty, the power is still on. There are security lights on at night, and the other day I was passing by while going for a walk and saw a cop car out front, and two cops walking out from the rear parking lot. I'm guessing that there is still something going on around there... probably scuttling the operation.

I think the place is just warming up, let it settle, wait til she's good and ready. Don't Korax her.

I was I was clearer, I doubt that place is abandoned. Hopefully things won't walk off the property when it does.

There's probably little left inside anyways, I guess the gears of decay will continue ever onwards.

Am I late to the photo party?

From my makeshift tripod on the roof...

Movies are shot here, sometimes...

Ah, recap: Meet was good, didn't mind hiding in Symes for a bit, even if we missed out on the other place. Actually tried taking okay photos! Quite possibly getting a tiny bit better, but who knows. Legs hurt, but the view of the city was great, somebody remind me to take a tripod next time.
