as for breaking and entering, not my thing. if i place is inaccessible. i wait for some other people to make a way in and come back and check next time.
|
Breaking in is the best part. Esp if its a place that nobody else has been inside yet and youre the one who makes the entrance.

haha awesome.....although I still can't always explain to her why I had the desire to go in an old wide open farm house that's on the verge of collapse.

| | | If you take a golden icon, you have to weigh out a bag of sand roughly the same weight. If it isnt the same, a giant boulder usually comes rolling down at you, and you have to run like hell past darts that shoot out of walls, and shit like that. The boulder will probably be rolling really fast too. So you have to spray paint dicks on it BEFORE you try to take the idol, just in case. Blah Blah Blah. Shut up and open the damn door. "It's ok Officer, I watch a lot of cop shows on tv, so i am practically one of you guys." - sadly, that didn't work. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jonno23/ All my photos suck. |

That explains the water damage in so many locations I've been to. Stop drinking so many fluids before you explore!

| | | Once many years ago, despite my apparent 'history' here now, I took a uer member who was a noob and FILLED with attitude since at that moment I was not a uer member, and his friend to an EASY abandoned hotel. So stuck up and filled with attitude. As we entered the site, I was saying, you just have to stall for traffic to dart in the overgrowth, and already that became a "what about coming out" fear fest. And once in the overgrowth, I made a sort of Joke with them, that I had entered this place so MANY times, but watch it be boarded now. AND: sho nuff. When we got up the back stairs that led to the entrance, there was some HUGE boarding. So there I am on the landing, and say something like,,,"I fucking knew it." They both start heading right smack down the stairs. Game over. And I was all, "wait wait wait". And I literally put my little fingers out on both hands and pulled on the giant board, and got it to come loose. It was going around a sticking out beam, and it was just barely there. Once inside, there was all the fotoing of the rooms on the second floor entrance, and there was this weird shrugging hesitation about the darkest room down the hall which held a hosp bed where the sick last owner died. And then, to go downstairs, my ONLY word of advice was: "these stairs are pretty weak so we need to not be on them all at once," and Both of them bucked like horses, "well then, we dont need to go downstairs". And I was like: it's a fucking 1920's SpeakEasy with a bar, and a secret dumbwaiter, etc. So I coax them downstairs, but it was so gross, because they felt they already had all the uer photos they needed. It was grotesque on that front. I don't care what you say, or investigate about ME,and my dull persona now, it was just GROSS, to see that they had a couple shots of the rooms and BANG they were done. They literally only wanted something to SHOW. The staircase itself was GORGEOUS in it's old time workmanship. The bar was lovely in the same. I saw one of them post this adventure on uer, and use the phrase, "and done, the research I have done,"...to babble on my research. This is a grammar nazi type of person too but they tripped on their own theft of my research, owned it, and then made a nonsense sentence of it. Whatever: I was very happy that one of them posted a pic of themselves in the office with a nasty explorer note I wrote on the wall behind them and they were clueless. A thing about RATS that was going on at the time. And so...for this thread, we have me writing on a wall....a rare thing...and "breaking" a board that any good wind would do. It all varies. The hotel was 6 blocks from my house, and I even fell asleep there sometimes, so I'll be damned if I could not write one stupid thing on the wall when I visited it 50 times. Birds were building a nest smack on top of a dresser pulled into the middle of a room. They scared me, I scared them. I truly loved that place and visited the owners graves. So when you speak of MORALS you have to COLOR me HORRID in these AT THE TIME UER members, in my breaking open a board. They are long dormant from this site. They were FILLED with morals and so very unpolite to me, and USING me for access, shaking in fear. Nothing in what I just said shows me to be some super explorer. I opened a board. It was GROSS...just plain GROSS, how after the first couple of hotel rooms they wanted to RUN to uer and post. No interest at ALL in the 4 other floors of the building. And THEY thought of themselves as utterly and truly taking in UER and it's morals and lessons.

| | | Me personally, I will never take anything from a site, even if it has value, it is not mine, I will also never break in anywhere, if there is a window and it is broken "smashed" then i will take the bits of glass off and slide in, I dont go in the building if it's boarded up, locked. or other wise non accessible. even if it is flimsy boarding.
Before my current employment I worked with antiques, so I have a general knowledge of older items. "Never fear shadows. They simply mean there's a light shining somewhere nearby. Ruth E. Renkel" |

| | | I feel like "take only photos, leave only footprints" is my general motto. I am not unopposed to picking locks, however I've never cut one, or cut welding, or broken windows. I also only touch anything MAYBE in one condition, if the building has a demolition date.

Why? You're in just as much trouble for trespassing in a building without boarded windows/doors.
