  So it just ends abruptly? In practice how would this big waterslide "disperse" the water? Where they side pipes of some sort? This is cool.

  The aueduct crosses a valley, making a ditch impossible. Besides, they didn't have the technology when in was built to build one that wouldn't leak horribly. At this point, the duct used to go into a vshape under the road, but part of it collapsed after it was abandoned, and later removed.
