Paris Catacombs
In the area under the Montparnasse Cemetery there are two levels to the Catacombs. The upper level tunnels seem to be mostly straight while the lower level passages wind all over the place. I went down into a lower level looking for the Room of the Chandeliers but ended up missing it by less than fifty metres.

This is what the Catacombs were dug for. The Gypsum rock. You can make out the shells of small shell fish in the ceiling of this passage in the Catacombs.
