Paris Catacombs
There is over 200 kilometers of passages within the 14th eme Paris Catacombs. During the time I was in them I must have traveled only about 40-50 kilometers of these passages. Even then, some I traveled twice. The passages are rarely straight, with many turns and bends. There are many cross passages and side tunnels. Some of the side tunnels are partly flooded. Others are too low to explore.
Throughout the passages there are many signs which indicate the streets under which the passages pass. Some are also historical markers.
Rue Montbrun Bourree 1877. A passage north west of The Cellar.
This is me standing in Rue Du Commandeur
An intersection with Rue Halle and Rue Bezout.
An unusual encounter with catacomb mushrooms.
A modern doorway placed in the Catacombs. This once closed off this passage which used to go through to the official catacomb tour. Now the passage is blocked a bit further down by concrete.
This Scarabs tag was to be found right through out the Catacombs.
