Brick Kilns 210th June 1998
In addition to the huge complex at Brickworks 1, Nubrick also had a brickworks closer to the city. This complex is more dismantled than the main complex. It consists of three large brick kilns, a brick pressing works and some sundry administration and storage buildings. One very important thing to realise about the swecond brick kilns is that people live there.
The people that live in the brick kilns don't welcome trespassers, so you should take the effort to politely introduce yourself to the people there. The manager of the business is called Mr Angel (no kidding) and he runs a fibreglass moulding works and was busy building a see-through bar when we first visited him.
An evening shot of the brick works showing the three main kilns.
A better shot showing a brick kiln and abandoned truck.
The interesting thing about the brickworks is that you can climb up into the kilns, see the working areas above them and even the interior of the kilns.
