City Power

In the heart of the city, an old relic from a forgotten age lies in moulderfing ruin. The massive city power station takes up an entire block of the city. From the outside it looks like a huge concrete monolith, a monument to the coal age. Inside it lies in rust and ruin. Asbestos lies in pools and drifts in the bottom. Bags of the stuff are left on walkways.

Massive boilers, generators and their foundations greet the few who tread into this vast mess. Giant coal hoppers lie empty, boilers lie unfueled. But this place is far from dead. The persistant hum of power permetes the building. Lights on control panels show they are still flowing with power. Pumps start up periodically in the dark basement to empty sumps. Lights flicker on and off, startling the unwary explorer. The water still pours hot from taps not used in years, hand driers stirr at the touch of a button.

This is a spooky place, a place one would not explore alone.
