The Pipeworks
The main sheds of the pipeworks are Huge! They look much smaller than they are in the images below. They must be at least 30 metres high. Attached to them is a pretty cool cement sifting tower.
The sheds are much bigger than they look.
The gaps down the end are big enough to drive trucks through
Hmm, what have we here
Why do people leave explosive stuff in abandoned buildings all the time?
A vat at the end of the main shed
Close up of the vat
Looking back out of the main shed
Conveyor belt
The empty garages, the building on the left though was not so empty
Weird bales of some sort of material
Access area - I entered that door there on the right
I really dislike people who steal and dump cars. They can make it harder for Urban Explorers to explain why they are on abandoned property
The car had all 4 wheels removed
Most of the engine was gone as well
So were all of the seats and most interior fittings
It looked like they had taken their time and might still be stripping it
At least they were safety conscious
A fuse box
I love this, a colour coded fuse box!
Tunnel to the main furnace area
Rails through the furnace area. Note the 3 levels
Bottom of the furnace
Storage area - smily face
Looking up the side of the furnace thing
Ladder
Looking down from level 2
Hopper - looking through to ground level
I'm not sure if this picture is upside down or not
Looking down the side of the furnace, note the slag bin on the middle left.
Some sort of motor?
Looking way down through the floor grille
