The railcar
A while back, while driving in the middle of nowhere I came across this old rail car in the middle of a country rail yard. According to the station master it was the prototype of a new rapid transit light rail system. It was never implemented due to government cutbacks and lay in the grass since the early 70s. One year a grass fire reached the rail yards and partly burnt out the rail car.
This old rail
car was once the pride and hopes of the state railways.
Now it stands moldering
in some quiet country rail yard.
Sleek lines, now tainted by smoke and rust
Going nowhere fast
The symbol says, 'Electronic Railcar'
The interior looks worse than the outside
The floor is gone
The cabin is home to wooden debris
Train to oblivion, going nowhere
Doorway to the future?
Once a busy rail
yard, now just one train a day passes through here.
