OK, I've posted pics of the Samurai, but here is my most recent acquisition. I love the Sammy, but now that I'm married with two teen kids, I need more space. The Suzuki will be for my solo trips, and this will be the family truckster.
1985 Chevy Suburban 1/2 ton with 350 motor
This was on the day I bought it. Since then I have:
Removed cooling fan and replaced with electric fan
Replaced old AC compressor with new 10 piston aluminum job
Removed smog pump
Removed catalytic convertor
Edelbrock performer carb
K&N air filter
Bosch platinum plugs
New low drag alternator
Hedman long headers
Replaced tires with a slightly more road friendly tread
3 1/2" pipes all the way back
New low restriction muffler
In the last 3 days:
Aluminum wheels
All body trim strips, rear roof mounted deflector and hood ornament have been removed
2 custom built (by my Dad) LED lights in the grill, two more in the back bumper
New USB capable stereo with 6 speakers and amp
larger radiator
transmission cooler
receiver hitch
air bag rear setup
4 internal power slots (formerly know as cigarette lighters) for electric stuff such as GPS, laptop, etc.
Rear bumper replaced with well casing bumper to hold compressed air
I also replaced (with Dad's electronic expertise) the rear electric window setup, which is apparently a weak spot on these. Went to relays, which handle the power, so the switch doesn't have to handle as much voltage. Next weekend it gets painted with Cerrokote IR reflective paint. Keeps you from showing up on night vision. Never can tell!
