| | | I don't care about Hummer either. The only thing ever cool about the H2 was it's appearance in Zombieland. It's also no more offroadable than a modified Chevy Suburban, which it's based on. And the Suburban is a better looking vehicle in comparison too. IFS like the H2 setup (the H1 is a different beefier design altogether) sucks for real offroading, there are plenty of better candidates for offroading that are better suited and won't ruin your bank account if you have a few scrapes against boulders. Better and cheaper to build up an XJ Cherokee, pre 91 Chevy Suburban or K5 with solid axles, etc. The H3 actually wasn't a bad vehicle, FWIW, especially the H3 SUT or whatever they called it. AM General was also created far before AMC was dissolved, back when they were still making derivatives of the M715 trucks back in the early 70s, as well as 6x6s. AMC created it to produce vehicles for their military accounts just like it's earlier iteration, Kaiser-Jeep had. Lastly, I'm glad this happened. I would not feel comfortable with the Chinese building Hummers when the US military uses the original Hummer. Even though they're separate vehicles and business entities that's a little too close for comfort, and the Chinese are known for pushing the envelope with that shit. They were making the Jeep Cherokee for years after Chrysler told them to stop making them under license.
