| | | April 1st i went to Costa Rica for vacation, it was good to get away, until monday morning. I log onto myspace to find out a good friend of mine committed suicide sunday morning, nobody wanted to tell me so it wouldnt ruin my vacation. The wake was wednesday (the day i was scheduled to return), and we tried all we could to get a flight tuesday to make it. It would have cost over 1000 dollars to cancel things, so we decided to just leave wednesday the 9th. Wednesday we get ready to leave, flat tire. Drive the car to the car rental place and they offer to follow us to the airport to make sure we get there alright after replacing the tire. They bring us to Quepos airport, we wanted San Jose. So we drive the 3 hours to San Jose, and all the fucking american airlines flighted are canceled. Luckily (or not) i am on US airways. Our flight which was scheduled to leave 2:45 costa rica time was delayed an hour. We arrive in charlotte at 9:30 and after customs and rechecking the bags, missed the flight to albany airport. By this time im in tears because the funeral was this morning (thursday) and we were stuck. Luckily they put us on a flight to boston, and we arrived there safely, with no car. No car company could get us a car, finally we got one and drove from boston to albany to pick up our own car. I get home at 6:30 this morning, after leaving san jose at 8:30 wednesday morning. Im functioning on no sleep right now, and its my birthday. The funeral was this morning, and the whole school went. Everythings a mess right now, i feel like crawling in a hole. Words cant describe how i feel and the loss my school has suffered, all because of a fight with his dad. Im sorry for ranting but im in a rough mood and i dont know what else to do. Rest in Peace, Timothy Muhl. June 21 1991 - april 6 2008. we love and miss you too much.

| | | Posted by Wiccan Wow,my condolences to you. Sounds like just about all that could go wrong did. My daughter is two months younger than Timothy, and yet another one of her friends was murdered a few days ago,so it's been pretty sombre here as well. I can't imagine what Timothy's family and you all are going through, how very sad. I'm sorry to hear that this all went so badly for ya. Sounds cheesy, but big internetz hugs to you,and happy belated birthday.
| Sorry to say it, but that girl started the whole situation. Trying to be some big-shot neighbourhood hero when you're dealing with rotten people (in a not so great neighbourhood) never ends well. That saying, she died horribly, and I feel sorry for the family and friends that had to witness such a thing. Had she kept her trap shut she wouldn't have been run over, backed up on and run over again. Everybody needs to get a good healthy dose of glitter and sunshine. Things always get better.

| Hence my statement that it was a bad situation all around.... And I too feel very sorry for my friend's daughter who stood there and witnessed this senseless stupidity. So sorry,in fact, that I'll attempt to resist my temptation to let her see what you've written here. I'm aware that you're only my daughter's age,but that said, you've likely been in or seen situations yourself where kids have been lipping off when they shouldn't have been. No matter who says what,NO ONE deserves to be run down like an animal in the street,I could give a flying fuck what was said. There is much more to this story that hasn't been printed for public consumption that I won't reveal here but do believe that this child didn't merit your flippant comment. And there will be no glitter or sunshine for the family and friends for a long time to come,I assure you. I'm rather astounded by your statement, but I hope that maturity (and not personal experience of such a horrific tragedy)eventually makes you realize that some things are better off not said, smiley inserted or not. **My apologies for derailing emck00's thread.

| Allow me to copy-paste a message I sent to Wiccan in regards to my comment, seeing as you all are unwilling to let the thread get back on track: I should also mention that my comment was said with no disrespect to the girl who was killed, but rather to her actions. You are correct, nobody deserves what she got. But nobody also deserves to have a gang of kids show up on your doorstep telling you to get the hell out of your neighbourhood and try to drive you out of your home. I figured this was all better said in PM instead of derailing an already off-topic (and horribly depressing) thread. This is just a classic case of people suffering dearly for their mistakes - which I have indeed witnessed time and time again. Personal experiences have come in great numbers when it comes to this, and so you must understand that I have come to deal with death rather impersonally and often (unfortunately) with humour. But when you know you're dealing with bad people, and you take that step into somebody else's domain, everything that happens therein is a consequence of your actions. She couldn't've expected people to walk away from that situation unharmed. But then again, she was only my age (or a year younger, I think,) so of course she was stupid and acted irrationally. Don't all of us? It's sad to realise that people have the potential to do horrible things in a day and age where we're striving to forgive one another. And while the death of somebody close to you, or in this case, your daughter, seems overwhelming and drives home, it's a part of life and people will eventually move on. So yes, in time, there will be glitter and sunshine for everyone. | I was never implying that she deserved what she got, but rather I am simply stating that had she stayed home, odds are she'd still be alive. She didn't think before she started the situation, and somebody else ended it, albeit a tragic and gruesome ending.
