| | | Posted by Tracy. I fucking love Toronto. Detroit is hella fun too. Makes Toronto look like child's play though lol.
| You are young. That is my point. Post by StewieWhat part of Toronto do you live in? That shit is fucked up. I never got any of those problems during the 13 years I lived in Toronto. Every one of those things happened to me within 2 years of living in Hamilton though. |
I live in Riverdale and it is relatively safe. I have been here for 7 years and didn't have any problems until last year. Before that I lived at Ossington and Dundas and before that College and Spadina. I think one of the issues is I am also sick of living as though I am young and poor. If I made my same wage in Hamilton I would be living like a rock star, but no, I don't. I had nicer apartments when I first moved out on my own in Victoria and then I only had a part-time job. It is sad to think my lifestyle peeked as a teenager. There is also the noise. When I am at home, inside, I actually have to ask people to hold on because a loud truck is going by, or a helicopter, or whatever and I can't hear them. Then, of course, is the issue with moving because I don't want to end up with a bad landlord, like my previous ones, or cockroaches and so on. I tell ya, I am old and crotchety and just want to live in a cottage by the lake. Then I can just yell at teh birds every morning to keep it down.

| | | My apartment is smaller than your first floor. I have to climb over my toilet to get in the tub and when I sit on my toilet my knees hit the wall. I had a large male friend who could not pee in my toilet, there wasn't enough room for him to stand between the toilet and the wall. I have two cabinets in my kitchen, if you can call it a kitchen. It is so small that the small fridge I have doesn't fit in it and is in my bedroom. You can verify this with manitou since he has been in both of our places. You win, hands down. This is what I can afford making 30/hr. It is not so much that I am afraid of Toronto. I go for bike rides at 3am by myself without fear, it is more that I am sick of the lifestyle. I love Toronto, but I am sick of how I live. I want a nice place, where I can spread out, where I can have some grass, but I am trapped here because I don't want to give up my job and I refuse to commute.
