My buddy "Newbomb Turk" has/had one of these in the civilian version. Largest front wheel drive vehicle I've seen personally.
| I'd say, those GMC motorhomes basically had Olds Toronado running gear with independent rear air suspension. Those things are crazy, there are 2 near my house, one, in mint condition with custom paint, is stuffed next to an uninhabited house that was illegally built back in the 80s with all floors used for storage by the owner [since the city won't let anyone live in it], and the other is in the yard of the redneck-looking house next door parked in mud. It's quite a strange site, considering the populated area in which I live. At the same time GM was making those they went on a kick building big rigs for tractor trailer use called "The General"...it took me a while to notice they only built those heavy duty tractors during the 70s and maybe early 80s.

| | | Posted by Samurai Chevy Cavalier station wagon- quiet, unassuming, unwanted by thieves, plentiful for parts, go anywhere off road... make sure it's a standard. OR old school mid-80's Subaru DL 4x4 wagon- again, quiet, unassuming, go anywhere... Samurai
| Hehehe... we used to use a rotted out Subaru Brat for an urbex vehicle. It was decent until the seats fell out. I actually bought a '90 Cherokee this past summer, with full intentions of converting it into the ultimate Urbex car. Then I realized every U-Joint on the thing was practically seized, the brakes were pooched, there was no floor, it needed a head gasket... the list went on. So I figured I'd work on it over the winter... then I was towing a BMW with it, ran over a logging chain, which was flung through the rear window, and into the windshield (missed my right ear by about an inch, I thought I got shot at)... and I just couldn't imagine putting a new windshield in the piece of crap, so I sold it for what I paid for it ($150), which I probably bought some VW parts with. Sooner than later, I'd like to find another Cherokee in slightly healthier shape, I like them, they're low key, and they're really impressive off road.
