To answer the topic:

1. Because I would be an extremely dedicated, responsible parent--and being a dedicated, responsible parent is no longer considered a good thing by society. Those parents are shit on nowadays and treated like they're crazy for instilling discipline and morals and beliefs in their children.

2. Life's too short and I have WAY too much to do. Having even one child would prevent me from doing so many things that I want to do in life, partly because of the money drain and partly because of the time drain. If I could live for a thousand years, I would have no problem with devoting 20-30 years of my life to raising children.

3. Because I once had a crazy bitch pretend to be pregnant with my child for nine months straight. And after worrying myself sick that entire time on how to keep my (unknowingly nonexistent) child safe from her unstable semi-psychotic ass and then miraculously getting a second chance when it turned out to be untrue, I decided I didn't EVER EVER EVER FUCKING EVER EVER FUCKING FUCKING EVER want to be that responsible for another human being's safety and wellbeing again for the rest of my life.

There is this guy, where I live, in WV(yeah, I know). Well he is a total greese ball. We are talking Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force times 5. Always wearing sweat Zubaz pants, dirty wife beaters, and as hairy as he is over weight. He thinks he is gods gift to women. He took a minivan and tinted the windows, put some gawd awful decals on the sides, threw some neon yellow rims on the tires, and to top it off he has "Hoe Train" written across the top of his windshield. He constantly rides around town trying to pick up chicks.

He has 10 kids by 10 different mothers.


And to keep it on topic, The fear that I might bring something like that into the world contributes greatly to my choice to be child free.

First off...34 next month and single, well, not really single, but not married either. Technically seriously involved with someone who really does not want kids and we can barely take care of ourselves without help, let alone a kid who can't tell you what they need or want. It's not money wise, it's just neither of us can really do it.
We both work weird hours for a company that requires more out of you than most gods in most middle age and modern day religions.
So, no kids.

I'm late to the party! Woo! I'm childfree because I love love LOVE to travel, I love being carefree, I don't have a lot of patience when it comes to children, and have never been the type of girl that dreamed of popping out babies. And most importantly, my fiance has had a vasectomy. Yay, makes things way better! Before I got with him, I was about 98% sure that I never wanted any but always said if I met someone that wanted them I'd consider it... but now that we are committed and planning to marry I am very sure! Almost all of my friends have kids, I can borrow one to spoil or have fun with and still have my quiet nights. Works out perfectly and the cats are sufficient.
