Sorry I know i'm a total cheesehead - but I'm having my baby girl this wednesday!!!!

i go in and get induced and am really really really excited and anxious.

i have to have the baby a little before term because of some medical problems so please wish us luck and hopefully her little lungs will be healthy and ready to go! since it's a girl, we have a better shot at having fully-developed lungs this early.

anywho - i'll post a pic when she gets here!

hello everyone.

our baby came into the world via c-section on thursday. however, she is very sick and had to be transported to Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Please pray for our little girl:

Sadie Michelle
6lbs 15 oz
20 inches long

DM, I pray that she'll be fine. She's so cute! She looks like she came out fully cooked. She'll be fine.

She is beautiful, I will be praying for sure. Take care of yourself to and keep us posted when you can.

She is getting stronger moment by moment and the doctor said I might be able to hold her tomorrow IF her vent comes out. Once the ventilator comes out of her she will be downgraded from critical to serious condition.

we actually found out today our little monkey is a girl. pretty cool since 99% of the babies in my family are boys.

sadie is doing better each day. we won't be able to take her home for a minimum of 7-10 more days.

we appreciate everyone's thoughts. this has been the most difficult time of my life. nothing has been harder and it doesn't get easier.

thank you again from the bottom of my heart - for this, and always thinking of my family (we've been thru so much this year!).

I got an email from her on the 7th (2 days ago) and everything is looking a lot better. I will copy it here for everyone to read since I'm sure DiVaMoNKeY is a little pre occupied with everything.


Hey everyone...Looks like all those prayers are really starting to work well for our little girl.

She went from six liters of oxygen down to two. They stopped the continuous feeds she was getting through her feeding tube and began feeding her every two hours instead. She's finally learning what it's like to have an empty belly and be hungry!

Last night, she kept trying to pull out the air tubes from her nose - the night nurse said that when she did pull them out, her oxygen levels remained excellent. So maybe that is just Sadie's way of telling everyone she's ready to start breathing without any help. We're so proud of her!

We're hoping that she is home by next weekend and can't wait to spend some time with our beautiful girl. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers and thank you to everyone who has called and written us about Sadie. Every little bit of support helps Erik and me tremendously. Thank you again.

the worst part of having a sick baby in the NICU, is seeing how much sicker other babies are too. it's so sad. i pray for all of them every night.
