Well....I know this sounds nuts....but the testing is normal. The insurance companies feel that all drug users are a risk. There are also a great deal of federal and state regulations that the funeral home must follow.

Basically, they are afraid that an employee may:

1) Take and/or use chemicals to manufacture illegal drugs.
2) Not follow federal/state regulations and cause fines and/or lawsuits.
3) Steal valuables from the deceased and their family.
4) Etc., etc., etc.


As usual, it is a broad judgement, and completely unfair, but it is what it is.

Yeah, PorkChop, I know. Also, employers get discounts on their liability insurance if they drug test employees. Bah.

That's great news, though, I really hope it works out for you, assuming you aren't a robot.

i started training at my new job yesterday and today. got to do my first death certificates and such. I think it will be an interesting job. I also got my internet back too, thank god. It sucked not having any tv or net.
