i've had my own insurance since 1992 and was with Allstate which wasn't bad. I moved to Tennessee in 2000 and dropped all insurance (TN didn't require auto insurance) and then went NY Mutual (NY Extortion more like it) when I moved back to NY. After that, i was with State Farm for almost 10 years. I had three windshield claims, one deer strike claim ($1500) and a vandalism claim ($1800) in that time... I had a couple of tickets, but i fought them and had them reduced to non-speeding. Anyways, my insurance kept going up and up and up. It went from $145 to $167 and then finally $190 a month. In August I had had enough when my agent couldn't explain my rates kept going up. I was/am 37 years old, been driving since I was 15, licensed since 16 and a pretty good driving record. I packed it in after 9.5 years and went with Esurance. My payment with them, for the same coverage, is $93 a month for both cars. I have liability on the Beretta (NY required) and comprehensive on the 07 Cobalt with a $500 deductible. (the body shop i go to always works around the deductible). i read an article somewhere that says if your bill is getting ridiculous to shop around.
| Yeah, that's the plan... sometime when I get a spare moment :/ I've never made a claim, and only have a ticket that doesn't count for any demerit points. I know insurance will go down when I turn 25, but I think it's silly that it's getting this expensive, especially considering how much cheaper it was when I was more of an at-risk driver. Thank God I don't have to change my address to Toronto while I'm here for school...I was talking to a co-worker who has to pay $370/month for insurance, plus an extra 60/year for plate renewal because of being in Toronto. Ewwww.

They are assholes. I used to work shift work and there were a few 'friends' and family members who figured that I was on midnight shift so that I can be their personal servant. When I refused to spend my entire sleeping time running errands for them, they got pissed off. Needless to say, I'm not associating with them anymore. As someone who owned a pickup, I had too many people criticize me for owning it. But when moving day comes, suddenly I'm the best buddy in the whole f**king world. That is until I tell them no, I'm not coming out to help and no, I'm not loaning the truck to them.
| Luckily I've gotten a lot better over the years about saying no. Lost a lot of "friends" who only wanted me around when I could drive them around, but ah well. I think most people know better than to even consider the thought of me lending them my vehicle -- only my Dad and bandi have driven my Jetta, and will be the only people to drive it other than myself. I've gotten insanely busy with school and work lately so I haven't been around for them to pester for favours luckily. Still have til next September to live with them, so we'll see how it goes. But Toronto is making me more of a bitch to people who don't matter, lol.

My neighbour slams her door all day every day, no matter what time of day it is. She does it for fun...and then she'll even make some comment right before doing it. Or the thing I love the most is when she jangles her friggin keys for 5 minutes straight and then enters her apartment and slams her door. I just love her.
| Yours sounds like a real treat, too. Mine is an obnoxious bitch, even her relatives can't stand her. Some of the things she does that make her such a delightful neighbor: -Slam her door constantly -Go off on tirades that can be heard halfway across the parking lot...with windows/doors shut! -Cackle like a hyena at all hours of the night...which can be heard up in our apartment like she was right in there with us. -Have the gall to complain about US making noise during daylight hours -Stands out in the parking lot on her cellphone talking very loudly about stuff I don't think anyone cares to hear about (like shaving her hairy "jungle bush" as she put it, for example) Mind, this woman is all of 5' and looks like Roseanne Barr, but possibly fatter. -Bitch at all other neighbors for making noise, talking in the parking lot, etc. -Heckling my boyfriend and I from her porch while we were detailing my car, making snide comments that "It's just a Neon, not a fuckin' Ferrari" (Yeah, because your duct-tape-mobile Windstar is a real prize to drive, you loud cunt) -Once called and reported we were having a wild party...when we were in another state visiting my family (and no one here but the cat). I make sure some days when I'm feeling extra vindictive to wear my steel-toed work boots and stomp extra loud down the steps and past her door.
