...Yup, and you never see a Dale Earnhardt on one of our cars, either.
| um, lol, i can provide pics to prove the contrary, Bandi-san. go with a new car. just dont lease it. as for my getting over 600 km in the 2.0. believe what you want,i reset my trip everytime too. still do. seems alittle OCD at times my 5 speed slammed jetta packed with gear drove from Oakville, to Ottawa, to Montreal on just over a tank of gas. that includes 3 days in Ottawa and 2 in montreal. some days we drove and some we didnt too bad my AC didnt work. | at this point, this statement is very true. Now is a better time to buy a new car than a used. I was just reading an article in the press the other day about how prices on used cars, due to the economy, are less attractive than financing new. Also, on fuel economy, my 05 Cobalt coupe (L61 2.2L Ecotec/5speed) turned in an honest 44mpg on a road trip from Moriah NY to McMinnville TN back in 2005.I made it from McMinnville TN to almost the Pennsylvania border on one take of fuel (about 400 or so miles). My 07 Cobalt turns in, at best, 34mpg (but it's equipped with a supercharger and is geared like a dumptruck... 70mph=3100RPM's). honestly, for the mileage, you cannot beat diesel and the only diesel worth buying out there (and I hate to say this) is the VW TDI. You can't beat the economy, nor the reliability. VW's with the diesel engine are FAR more reliable than the gasoline-powered variants. Unfortunately, you do pay a premium for it, but the investment will pay out over the long term in ownership costs and trade in. Personally, i have always had good luck with General Motors products, but I seem to be in the minority here. So be it. They also don't make a car to fit your listed criteria. If you were to buy Japanese, buy Honda or nothing at all. They are a good car, do have some ownership fleas, but that does seem to be hit or miss. If you are going to buy European, the VW TDI. As I said, personally, i find the Korean cars to be slickly marketed garbage; cars that feel solid out of the gate but are crap within 20,000 miles. the choice is yours. i hope you choose wisely and have an uneventful ownership.
